Excellent hike - We had a great time! This is a great way to get out of the busy city and enjoy the beautiful landscape. We drove about ~45 minutes up into the Sierra Nevada mountains, and then hiked through the afternoon. We left Granada at 9 am and got back around 4. The hike was moderately strenuous with some steep climbs at ~9000 feet. Poles, hats, and gloves were provided. The views were great, and we spotted mountain goats and vultures. We saw no other hikers the whole time, so it was very peaceful.

Hiking from Granada - Jaime was a very knowledgeable tour guide and helped provide us with supplies that we needed. His dog, Kai, was an adorable addition to the trip.

Sierra Nevada Hiking - Nevada Guides were excellent and we highly recommend. Jaime was a very knowledgeable and experienced guide. Booking was easy on Trip Advisor. Jaime kept us updated on changing weather conditions to ensure we had a safe and enjoyable hike. He was also well prepared with lots of extra gear (hiking poles, backpacks, warm clothing, rain gear) for those who needed it. He set a good pace for our group which was a mix of beginner and experienced hikers. He was knowledgeable of the climate, ecology and geological history of the Sierra Nevada. The hiking was fantastic with beautiful scenery. The hike starts at 2500m with another 500 m of elevation gain. Ensuring a good level of fitness to deal with altitude is important. For those nervous or fearful of heights there are some steep sections and exposure especially at the summit. The total hiking time was about five hours. The day started and ended at a local taberna (at the trailhead) for warm or cold drinks.

Great hike!! - Very cool and unique experience. Such a nice change of place from the city and tours. Jaime was an amazing guide. The landscape is very harsh but beautiful. Glacial valley. Definitively need to be physically fit to do this tour as you start at 8K feet and hike to 10K feet--so air is thinner. You will want to have trail or hiking shoes as you are mostly on rock. Stopped to do a picnic along the way (pack a lunch, snacks and bring plenty of water). The mountain air was really nice. Can't recommend enough. Thank you Jaime.

Jaime (and Kai!) are... - Jaime (and Kai!) are truly expert guides who navigated us safely through these wild terrains in unexpectedly rainy and windy weather. I thought I was prepared with hiking boots, layers of clothes and rainproof jacket but the mountains had another idea and I was grateful for Jaime's extra pairs of gloves, beanie and rain ponchos. So I think overpreparedness for all types of weather is key. The ascent was tougher than expected because we were off the beaten paths and climbing steep slate hills but it was totally worth it at the top with spectacular views, and in hindsight more fun. I recommend hiking shoes with ankle support for this hike as it can get quite slippery on the loose rocks even without the rain. My parents in their late 60s are regular bushwalkers and they thoroughly enjoyed this tough hike. Highly recommended for those who have a good level of fitness and like a challenge.

An indescribable experience - This is really worth it! An indescribable experience. Marvel at the nature that Sierra Nevada has to offer. A brisk walk with an excellent Guide accompanied by his dog. Jamie has experience, knows the fauna and flora typical of the mountains, considered the whole group, took breaks at the right times. Highly recommended!

Jaime and Kai are awesome - Jaime was a wonderful guide, informative and kind to everyone. He’s clearly a very seasoned hiker / mountaineer, and has the best dog ever by his side with an equal breadth of capability. Even with that, he was able to support the entire group with a range of endurance and skills. The hike itself is no joke, however it is very doable if you have done some hiking with elevation. The terrain is at most minimally technical. Only thing that was a slight hiccup was my partner did not have adequate footwear packed, due to our impression there would be a range of appropriate hiking shoes available. There was only a size 43, too big, but manageable in this case. If you require footwear for rent reach out at least a few days in advance. Overall, fantastic time. Well worth the money. Jaime and Kai make a fantastic pair to guide and encourage people through this journey.

Amazing experience! - Jaime (along with his gorgeous dog Kai) was a fantastic guide! The hike was slightly challenging at points but well worth it for the views at the summit. 10/10 would highly recommend, thanks Jaime!

Thank you to Jaime and Kai! Highly recommend - I went on the hike for my 30th birthday. I always like to go somewhere with nice landscape and have an opportunity to meet other travellers. The views were breathtaking, but what made the trip even better was Jaime our tour guide and his dog, Kai. Jaime gave excellent local information and is an experienced hiker. He also took photos for us. Thank you Jaime and Kai. I highly recommend this trip!

Almost 5 Star, but......! - Picked up right on time by our bright and breezy guide Buitre. The hike was marvelous and the cool breezes a wonderful respite from the heat of the city. Magnificent views, cattle, sheep and mountain goats easily spotted with snow still visible on the upper slopes.. Buitre went at a very manageable pace for our group of 5. Singing and sharing insights on the way he made the day relaxing and fun! A 5 star day.....except for the following: 1. The company state that they hire out hiking boots for 3euro. However, they no longer provide this service. A good pair of strong sneakers will indeed suffice....mine were not so strong and lacked grip. I was hoping to hire boots and contacted the company 2 weeks before the trip to secure them, but my messages were ignored until it was too late and I was already in Spain. 2. The route is not difficult per se, but there are a couple of places where hiking poles are a definite advantage.😉 I was assured that poles would be available FOC for us all. Again, not the case. Buitre kindly lent me his own hiking poles whilst 2 of our group members had to make do with sticks found along the path. Not ideal, especially if you like the security and balance that poles afford. I would suggest poles be provided as standard procedure for all, and that the boot hire option be removed from the company information if the service is no longer provided. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Thank you Buitre for a lovely day!!
