Highlights
  • Sierra Nevada - Sierra Nevada, or Sulayr, Mountain of the Sun as it was called by the Muslims, rises up between the provinces of Granada and Almeria like a giant and compact massif with fifteen peaks of over 3,000 metres, including the Mulhacén (3,482 metres), the highest point on the Iberian Peninsula. After being collected from your accommodation in Granada, you will be driven to 2,500 meters above sea level to the top of the Sierra Nevada Road. From here you will head to the most beautiful glacier valley of Sierra Nevada, San Juan Valley. Here you will learn how the ice has been excavating the rocks throughout thousand of years. Additional Information

Once we collect you from the heart of Granada, we’ll make our way to the highest point of the Sierra Nevada road, 2500 meters (8000 ft). Our destination is the stunning glacier valley of Sierra Nevada - San Juan valley. Here, ice has been sculpting the rocks for thousands of years to create beautiful waterfalls and gleaming rocks. We’ll observe the mountain goats, eagles, vultures and unique insects and plants that call this Unesco Biosphere Reserve home. Our trek takes us off the usual tourist track as we’ve discovered the most secluded spots in Sierra Nevada. Our journey will take us above 3000 meters(10000 ft) to the peak of Tajos del Campanario. From here, we’ll get an up-close view of Muhacen’s striking north face (the tallest peak in the Iberian peninsula), Veleta and Alcazaba, beautifully sculpted by Sierra Nevada’s largest glaciers. Your guide will set a comfortable pace for the group, allowing plenty of breaks to rest and take in the scenery. Amazing experience! - Jaime (along with his gorgeous dog Kai) was a fantastic guide! The hike was slightly challenging at points but well worth it for the views at the summit. 10/10 would highly recommend, thanks Jaime!

Thank you to Jaime and Kai! Highly recommend - I went on the hike for my 30th birthday. I always like to go somewhere with nice landscape and have an opportunity to meet other travellers. The views were breathtaking, but what made the trip even better was Jaime our tour guide and his dog, Kai. Jaime gave excellent local information and is an experienced hiker. He also took photos for us. Thank you Jaime and Kai. I highly recommend this trip!

A fantastic unique experience - A great way to spend a day exploring the Sierra Nevada. I cannot recommend this tour highly enough. Jamie and his team were excellent taking us on a hike we would have never managed to find or conduct ourselves. His trusty adorable dog Kai was the perfect co-navigator and source of much entertainment. It's a moderate hike and there were different abilities in the group but Jamie ensured that the pace was right for everyone and no-one was left straggling behind. His knowledge of the local plant and wildlife coupled with the history of the Sierra Nevada was second to none.

A complete tour, with incredible views - An excellent excursion. The guide Jaime was super friendly and attentive, and knows everything about Sierra Nevada. Your dog is a charm. The views were wonderful, we were speechless, and Jaime didn't mind taking photos of us, he also took some incredible ones and the excursion was very enjoyable. Then we had a drink when we got to the bar that was close to where we arrived with the car before returning to the city. To repeat without a doubt!

Fantastic! - The hike up the Sierra Nevada was truly breathtaking! The guide, Jaime, was fantastic and made sure we were well prepared with walking poles, gloves, fleece etc. He is also a fantastic person, very friendly and willing to share his experience and expert knowledge of these incredible mountains. Don't be afraid to ask questions, he is happy to answer. I learnt so much from him. His dog Kye, is the star of the show! Ensure you bring sunglasses, hat, sun cream - it is not to be underestimated how exposed you are to the sun, and depending on the day, also the wind. Take some water and snacks for energy, at the return location, there is time for food and drinks if you want. Thank you Jaime!
