Exellent and informative tour - The tour was amaizing!! So refreshing and different compared to the typical sightseeing walking tour you would expect. The guide was very knowledgeable and funny and the lenght of the tour was just right, not too long or too short. If you have time I highly reccomend giving this tour a visit :)

Must do tour if you are in London - Booked a last minute impromptu walking tour to try to expand my knowledge on the history of slavery. This tour delivered everything I could have asked for and more. Sam is a well of knowledge covering the history of slavery from both an architectural point of view and then supported in oral history and imagery that he has collected over his studies. Truly a great and memorable experience that will have you quickly clamoring for another tour.

A tour not to be missed! - Sam spoke with clarity; he was engaging and very knowledgeable giving us insight into Roman and Victorian London. Very informative with regards to the African Roman Emperor being the builder of the wall. An uplifting tour of British history. I enjoyed walking the familiar streets of London and finding out about the significance of landmarks. An easy walk: the 2 hours went fast. Highly recommend this tour! Sam was amazing!

A Revelation - The walk covered a history of London that most of us would have knowledge of but not in the independent way that Sam our guide bestowed upon us. We discovered London is split in three separate parts, it has a wall that once surrounded it and that Britain's slave past covers 2000 years and began with the enslavement of their own people, The British themselves. Definitely worth going to I would highly recommend.

A plesantly uplifting and very informative tour of British History. - What could have been a doom and gloom experience started on a positive informative note with regard to the African Roman Emperor being the builder of the wall that still [is still visible under several buildings at the start of the tour] defines the border of City of London which is in itself a separate Legal Entity to the rest of the UK [as highlighted by a separate Police Force and Mayor]. A very poignant, interesting aspect of the walks is the African chattel enslavement Trading via the Jamaica Inn being literally next door to the building where the Abolitionists led by were eventually successful in getting the Slave Trade stopped, made illegal further underlining the focus on positivity as opposed to vitriol and hatred of an obvious low point in human history.

A must for anyone with an enquiring mind! - An extremely interesting insight into the connections between some of our well known institutions in the City of London and how some of the most prominent men of the time gained their wealth through the trade of slavery. We were shown how many of the everyday sights, signs and buildings in the City were directly linked to the slave trade and owe their wealth and prominence to it … we pass them daily, ignorant of their past. Two hours well spent!

A spirited conversation about London's - It was very informative and had lots of information. What I really liked it having bits of London that I've walked past regularly pointed out and explained. They was even a landmark that links to a nursery rhyme which wasn't oranges and lemons. There was a vast breath of knowledge given regarding London, particularly Roman and Victorian London and I never realised just how big the Roman Wall was! What I liked was is was a conversation about history not just a walk
