Dartmoor National Park - In the morning, navigate country lanes and take in the beautiful scenery of Dartmoor National Park, known for its Sherlock Holmes connection, native wild ponies, and infamous prison. Stop in the delightful town of Tavistock, the birthplace of Sir Francis Drake, and try a traditional Devonshire Cream Tea.
Charlestown Harbour - Next, take a short trip to the historic port of Charlestown, a place that has remained largely unchanged for over 200 years. Today, the harbour is instantly recognizable as a filming location for the TV series Poldark.
St Michael’s Mount, Minack Theatre, Land’s End & Falmouth
St. Michael’s Mount - The day will take you to some of the most remote parts of Cornwall’s coastline. Start by visiting the iconic St Michael’s Mount, an island that has housed a monastery since at least the 8th century.
Minack Theatre - Next is the Minack Theatre, a venue with a breathtaking location that rivals any theatre in the world.
Land’s End Landmark - From here, make the short journey to mainland Britain’s most westerly point, Land’s End, where you can gaze out over the Atlantic Ocean.
Falmouth Seafront Promenade - In the afternoon, return to Falmouth, where you can spend time on the beach, visit Pendennis Castle or the National Maritime Museum Cornwall, or simply explore this charming harbour town.
St Ives, Tintagel and Port Isaac
St Ives Bay - In the morning, the first stop is the popular seaside town of St Ives, an important fishing settlement and now a haven for artists, where you can stroll down cobbled lanes or along the harbour front.
Port Isaac - Next, travel to the charming village of Port Isaac, where the hit TV series Doc Martin is filmed. Commonly known as ‘Portwenn’, there is plenty of time to see all the Doc Martin-related sites.
Tintagel Castle - In the afternoon, continue along the coast to Tintagel to explore an island that was once home to an ancient castle, which legend suggests is the birthplace of King Arthur.
