Highlights
  • Brick Lane - One of the East End’s most famous streets. Brick Lane is the epi centre of London’s south Asian community. Famous as the place to go for curries and other South Asian delicacies. The street has a fascinating past and is now home to London’s hip and trendy.

  • The Old Truman Brewery - At one time one of the largest breweries in the world and now home to a weekend market. Steeped in history and a centre point for many of the area’s stories.

  • Old Spitalfields Market - One of London’s most famous and popular food markets. Quality local produce is used alongside ingredients from around the world. Nowhere is the melting pot of London more represented in food form.

  • Shoreditch - Once a slum of London, Shoreditch is now the home of the hipster. Some of the best bars and restaurants are found here and it’s an area full of history and constantly evolving culture.

  • Whitechapel - Jack the Ripper’s old hunting ground is a bit safer these days. We’ll take a wander through the streets and learn about the stunning townhouses that line both sides. It’s easy to feel like you’re on the set of a Dickensian film.

London Bites East End Food Tour - This food tour was not just about the food but about a part of London with a rich and colourful history. Our excellent guide Trevelyan entertained us with tales of how the culinary delights of the East End developed through immigration and trade. We enjoyed a wide variety of food such as Turkish flatbread, chocolate and samosas. A fun and varied day out!

Great food tour! - Erik took us on a great food tour of the East End today! I learned a lot of history and ate some delicious food. I will definitely go back to explore more in that area of town. Skip breakfast! You will be satisfyingly full at the end of the tour. I will definitely book another food tour with London Bites!

A great food tour - The tour was well structured and conducted at a pace where you did not feel rushed. I was able to take in the history, and the cultural influences. The sampling of different foods was excellent. I experienced a part of London I would not ordinarily have gone to. Our guide was superb. The other people on the tour were really good company as well. Overall a really enjoyable experience. One which I would recommend.

A great food tour through Borough - My daughter and I had a great time on the Borough Market Tour with Gary as our Guide. The food was fantastic and we really enjoyed all the historical information and trip along the river to see the Globe Theatre! Of course the food was fantastic and the highlight! We had lots of great options, and appreciated Gary acommmodating the pescatarian at the last minute! I especially enjoyed the sausage role from the Ginger Pig, and my daughter loved the Calamari! We highly recommend this tour!

You won't be hungry after this... - Excellent food tour! We went on this back in January hoping to find out a bit more about the food and culture of the East End and Brick Lane. We had Trevellyan as our host and he was really informative and interesting showing that he knew the area really well and sharing stories and anecdotes. The food was excellent (especially the salt beef beigle) - too much for us to manage and we've got pretty healthy appetites, and rounded off with a lovely pint of porter at the end. A very enjoyable afternoon. Thanks Trevellyan!
