Good day out - Great trip Experienced driver/guide with a great sense of humour. Comfortable vehicle with adequate seating and space. There was plenty of time at each attraction to view them properly. We were not rushed at any stop but were allowed to spend time there and enjoy the experience. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in British pre-history.

Stonehenge and Avebury - Our tour guide was Colin. Very enjoyable day! He was incredibly knowledgeable on all aspects of the history of both Avebury and Stone Henge. Very comfortable ride to and from the tour sites. Would definitely recommend this tour to others.

Best tour ever--thank you!! - I've been on several tours over the years in the UK and this one stood out as the best. Colin was an excellent tour guide. He walked us through the sites, explaining the history in detail, which I really appreciated. I learned so much not just about the sites we visited but places along the way. This was so refreshing since I had just been on a tour with another tour company where I was literally handed a map of the area and told to meet back in an hour. In contrast, Colin's engagement with the group made a big difference. I felt like he really cared about giving us the best experience. I'd definitely choose Anderson Tours again, especially if Colin is leading the tour.

Stonehenge & Avebury Day Trip - Very enjoyable and interesting. I’ve been to Stonehenge before but pairing it with Avebury gave a new perspective and put it in context with the history of the area. This tour also gave us sufficient time to visit the sites. Michel was a great tour guide. My husband and I learned a lot from him and he was fun.

Feedback on Tour Experience: Improvements Needed for Comfort and Guidance - The tour guide was friendly, but the overall experience fell short of expectations. The bus was quite small and fully packed, making the journey through London traffic and the two-hour drive each way rather uncomfortable due to the cramped conditions. A single meeting point would be more efficient than multiple stops, which added an extra 1.5 hours of traffic just to leave London. While the West Kennet Long Barrow was interesting, it didn't feel like a significant highlight. More time in Avebury for lunch and exploration would have been preferable, skipping the visit to West Kennet Long Barrow altogether. Additionally, many of us anticipated the tour guide accompanying us through Stonehenge, but we ended up exploring on our own. The late email about the app and the lack of headphones meant we had little context while walking around Stonehenge.

The tour guide 'Miceh' kept talking about weed and alcohol - Our guide, a man named Miceh, who kept cracking inappropriate jokes about people smoking pot and getting drunk at West Kennet Long Barrow, and how he himself used to get stoned. We had three children in our group (15, 8 and 7 years old), and it was odd that the guide seemed to think that talking about weed and alcohol was appropriate for the audience, or even appropriate for a tour about prehistoric sites at all. Once at the location, he kept rambling about Area 51, aliens and Mayan/Aztec sites. After ten minutes of listening to his nonsensical ramblings, I walked away from the group and soon others wandered away too. His knowledge about the place was limited to which rock band spent 5 days getting stoned at West Kennet Barrow, how a couple of girls spent the night inside the structure there (so must have had to drink a lot), and how he and his friends went to a military area close by and were met by security forces. Given the long walk up to the site from the road, it felt like a waste of time once we got there because of the odd things the guide decided to speak about. It was unfortunate because there is plenty more fascinating information about the site on the Internet, and if Miceh had read any of it, he could have made the trip worth the expenditure, time and effort for us tourists. Instead, he frittered away the opportunity to make it a relevant visit. The guide hardly spoke while driving the bus, and most of the journey to West Kennet Long Barrow, then Avebury, then Stonehenge was spent in silence. Once we reached Avebury, and later Stonehenge, we explored the areas on our own while the guide remained with the bus, so I'm not really sure what the purpose of the guide, or indeed the tour was. You would be better off just taking public transport to these locations at a fraction of the price and exploring them on your own. The bus provided is NOT a "luxury coach" (as claimed in the tour description) by any measure. It is small, cramped and the seats are narrow. Each row consists of one seat on the left side, then the aisle and then two seats on the right side. All in all, given the conduct of the guide and the cramped bus, it was not worth the price of the tour. We had taken a similar tour in 1999 with another company and that tour guide was full of engaging information and anecdotes about the sites. At Avebury, he had demonstrated how L-shaped metal rods kept loose in hand-held wooden holders would turn around when you passed them between two monoliths. The knowledge and eagerness of the guide to make the tour interesting resulted in a memorable experience that stayed with me for over 25 years. The tour by Miceh was sorely disappointing in comparison. At the end of the tour, Miceh said that if we had something nice to say about the tour we should definitely leave a review with his name in it, and if we had something unpleasant to say then we should put down the name of our guide as 'Sebastian'. Given that this is not the first bad review that Miceh has received, I can't help wondering why the tour provider keeps sending him out with tourists.
