This guided stroll takes us from the City of London to Westminster, traversing 2000 years of history and stopping by some of London’s most remarkable pubs. The Black Friar, an art nouveau gem, is our first stop. We’ll share tales about the Great Fire of London and the Blitz and make a stop at St. Brides church to explore the crypt’s concealed gems….
This guided stroll takes us from the City of London to Westminster, traversing 2000 years of history and stopping by some of London’s most remarkable pubs. The Black Friar, an art nouveau gem, is our first stop. We’ll share tales about the Great Fire of London and the Blitz and make a stop at St. Brides church to explore the crypt’s concealed gems. You’ll hear about the bygone powerful print newspaper industry. We’ll drop by several pubs, including the unchanged-for-centuries Ye Old Cheshire Cheese, and you’ll learn about the world’s most renowned parrot! We’ll visit two of the Temple’s Inns of Court, and discuss the connection between a chambers there and Jack the Ripper. Afterward, we’ll stop by more distinctive pubs and the site of the Demon Barber of Fleet street and proceed onto Westminster. The Coal Hole, our final pub pit-stop, was formerly the coal cellar for the Savoy Hotel.
