Great Tour, Fantastic Guide - I booked this tour originally for 2020 then Covid hit and everything was cancelled. I rebooked for 2021 but we still weren’t allowed to travel. I was determined to do this tour and booked it for a third time and we finally did it last night. Allan our guide was full of information about a lot of history but more so with Jack and his victims. It might sound morbid but I’ve seen most of the documentaries and read a lot of books so it was easy to keep up with Allan’s information. He made the evening fun and enjoyable. I especially pleased to find there were on 10 of us on the tour instead of 50. I highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in the Jack the Ripper history.

A Great Tour with a Great Guide! - What a blast! Our guide Alan took us through London on a Jack the Ripper tour and enlightened us with his excellent knowledge of history and fantastic sense of humour. He made sure we were all entertained and kept us interested with his witty tidbits of information. He included many extra and interesting spots in his tour, which added to the great experience. If you are ever thinking of coming to London, make sure to book a tour with Alan (who does an awesome impression of Sean Connery!). Cheerio!

A Ripper of a Tour - The narrow alley of Victorian London was awesome, and our guide was invested in giving us a great experience.

Definitely not a sherlock Holmes tour - The information regarding Jack the ripper was good. Description of trip misleading. Definitely not a sherlock Holmes tour.

Not our thing - The tour on the bus was informative and fine but the walking tour was a little boring. Maybe it got better but we left the tour about halfway through.

Traffic Mayhem - London is currently undergoing 20 weeks of road closures around the city centre and the traffic is (understandably) terrible. We spent an hour and 40mins minutes stuck on the bus, which we could have forgiven if it was just the traffic, however, the lack of planning and forethought is not. Our guide kept directing the driver down roads that you couldn’t make turns on (which could have been avoided as simply as using google maps), culminating in our fantastic driver having to reverse the bus 100-200m out of a narrow dead end road while avoiding parked cars on both sides. Unfortunately, over halfway through the tour, we had not even arrived at the first location. We left as soon as we got off the bus, not having the time, patience or energy to start our tour that late, which is a shame, as we were looking forward to hearing the stories of Jack the Ripper.

Absolutely terrible. Not what is advertised. - The tour description says: “Climb aboard an open top bus for a 3-hour tour of haunted London, and travel back in time to the days of Jack the Ripper. Walk through an empty Smithfield Market, former site of public executions. Then head to the safety of the Sherlock Holmes pub!” The NOT an open top bus took nearly an hour to get to our initial stop. There was a considerable amount of arguing between Magnus and the bus driver on the way. He literally ran through the tour (about 8 people needed a bathroom break due the long bus ride. He refused to stop and we had to find him ourselves when we were done). There was a photographer for Magnus, for some reason, using a flash taking constant pictures, which was extremely distracting and irritating. Magnus considers himself an expert and instead of telling a story, focused in talking about his opinions. We ended abruptly, if we went to the Smithfield Market, he didn’t mention it, and we were unceremoniously dropped off with ZERO mention of Sherlock Holmes except “the pub is over there if you want to go”. Very disappointing, as this was one of our most anticipated tours for our family girls trip we’d been waiting for 3 years to take. There were multiple tours around us that all sounded more interesting and engaging, so you have plenty of options. Choose wisely!

Don't waste your moneyt - Terrible tour. The host was not engaging. Just talked. His information seemed outdated. Too much walking on concrete with no chance to sit down while the host just read from documents he carried. I don't recall Sherlock Holmes name even mentioned by the host. We were in the British Isles for 15 days and this was the very worst part of the trip.
