If you like stories, grit, and a curious look into a dark journey, take this tour. - So I went solo as someone who actually gives tours, and I have to say that he was funny, charismatic, and basically a human encyclopedia. Even between historical locations, the stories he tells are fascinating and varied. More than worth the money. This is a bit of a flex, but I'm also a tour guide, and I can say he did a phenomenal job.

Paul the tour guide was fantastic! Not only extremely interesting and knowledgeable but adds a sprinkle of humour! - Fantastic evening last night, Paul is super interesting and having lived in London for 20
years saw many hidden gem streets I didn’t know existed. Paul is very passionate about what he does and look the time to answer any questions, never becoming impatient which I experienced on some previous tours. He took us to Mitre Square and despite not being one bit superstitious I did see a ghost on the ground. I will add the photo to see if you can spot it too! Cannot wait to go on another tour with Paul, highly recommend! Thank you 🙏

A great evening out in London - My wife and I attended the Jack the Ripper Tour this week. This was part of a red letter day package which included a delicious fish and chip supper at Poppies. We met our guide, Paul at Aldgate station, and the tour started promptly at 7pm. We were in a small group, and so it made it very easy for us to hear Paul and see his photos. Paul has a wealth of experience, particularly helped by his previous career in the police force, and so this added an extra dimension and enabled him to add his interpretation to the gruesome events that took place. The story is fascinating and Paul’s approach was to make the tour very interactive by posing questions to us to get different viewpoints. I think the ultimate testament to Paul’s tour is that he managed to hold my attention for 2 hours - which is a very rare thing! I would certainly recommend this tour. It made for a very enjoyable evening. Thanks Paul.

Intrigue and suspense - Paul ran an excellent and informative tour, which snaked in and out the lanes and backstreets between Aldgate, Spitalfields and Whitechapel. Whilst the tour focused on the Ripper exploits we also took time to consider London's history the different architecture and our guide answered all of our questions - on any subject! It was a very cold evening and despite us being few in number Paul maintained the pace and excitement so that we didn't freeze and were kept intrigued the whole time. Thank you very much.

Great tour and history of Jack The Ripper - The tour was amazing, start to finsh we were kept engaged. The tour guide paul was very knowledgeable and passionate about the topic and this kept us all intrigued. He has a great sense of British humour too. This was the first tour coming out of lockdown due to the covid19 pandemic. Paul wore a mask throughout and used a microphone with a speaker it was also our first outing of such since March and it was great, we felt safe at all times and really enjoyed the tour with the small group, pick up loads of information and facts about this part of the East End of London in addition to The whole Jack The Ripper history.

Mediocre Tour - I accompanied my friend on the Ripper Mystery Walk. She had been looking forward to this experience for months. The weather was wet and windy, but we were cheerfully optimistic and thought this would add to the creepy atmosphere.
On meeting our tour guide Paul, he seemed approachable and engaging. However, as the tour got underway (and late I may add), it became apparent that this was going to be the Paul show. There was lots of information about Paul's personal life which seemed to dominate the discussion. It's fine to add in relevant bits here and there, but I started to zone out on more than one occasion. My friend walked off frequently and did some of her own sightseeing!
At the start of the tour we stopped in a wind tunnel. I thought we'd only be there for a short time as it was Baltic. However, we stayed put for what seemed like an eternity. My friend and I couldn't concentrate on what was being said, as we were too busy trying to keep warm. Another tour stopped briefly, Paul mentioned that they couldn't hack it and have moved on. I didn't realise we were on the SAS version of Jack the Mystery Tour, Who Dares Wins!
The most frustrating, irksome and irritating part of the tour was Paul starting to talk before we had chance to catch up with the rest of the group. His voice wasn't loud enough over the hustle and bustle for us to hear all of the information. The tour felt rushed towards the end.
On a more positive vibe, I found hearing about the grave robbers Burke & Hare and The Whitechapel cemetery fascinating. I also loved seeing the old cobbled alley next to The White Hart pub, albeit frequented by what seemed like two dodgy characters doing a drug deal!
To conclude, in my opinion Paul is obviously very knowledgeable about Jack the Ripper and London history. However, this was a mediocre tour and I wish I had done my research.
