  • St Alphage Garden with ruins of St Alphage Church - Starting our tour at the statue of the Minotaur sets the scene before we embark on a journey to discover the City of London’s unique history and how it intertwines with the mythology of Ancient Greece.

We discuss the Saxon influence on culture at the steps of the beautiful St Alphage church ruins.

  • Salter’s Hall Garden - The Roman wall is the physical structure that helped fortify the City of London from outside influence ever since the Romans built it.
    We also delve into the Celtic people, the indigenous people of these lands, and the ones who made it necessary for the Romans to fortify Londinium with the wall!

Having set the scene, we look to the Salter’s Hall to delve into the history of London’s trade, governance, and sacrifice through the years. The Salter’s Hall is ranked 9th among the 12 most important Livery companies (formerly known as Guilds).

  • St Mary Aldermanbury Garden - The ruins of this ancient church derive their name from the ancient court or bery of the aldermen, which is now held at the Guildhall. The garden today hosts memorials to two of London’s most influential legends.
  • City of London - The municipal governing body of the City of London and the historic center of London.
  • Guildhall - The town hall of the City of London has been on its current site since at least the 13th century. We take a look at its history and mythology from Greek through to Roman, Saxon, and Norman influences.
  • Guildhall Art Gallery - Location of the Roman Amphitheatre
  • St. Lawrence Jewry - The official church of the City of London Corporation remembers the saint who helped Christianity to flourish with a sacrifice that was unforgettably cruel.
  • London Mithraeum Bloomberg SPACE - A Roman temple in the heart of the City of London dedicated to the Sun god Mithras, who is always seen defeating the Bull. The Bull is a symbol of prosperity, and it is also an influential astrological symbol. Throughout history, the Bull has been sacrificed to bring in the new.
  • Bank of England - We decipher some of the symbols of one of the most influential institutions in the world!
  • St. Margaret Lothbury Church - This church represents two of the Wards of the City of London, and we look at how livery companies came by their naming as ‘Worshipful’ companies.
  • Bank of England Museum - We tell the story of modern money and trade, how it changed shape and in turn the world itself. Its stories entail the beheading of a King, companies that developed an empire, to the advent of modern-day money: The digital dollar and bitcoin.
  • The Royal Exchange - Built by a legend for adventurers to meet. These men went on to shape the new world. We also find out what the golden grasshopper is doing on top of it!
  • Mansion House of City of London - At the head of governance is The Lord Mayor of the City of London. In addition, he is an international ambassador for the UK’s financial and professional services sector. This is his home.
  • London Troops War Memorial - Inside a circle of 12 dragon lamp posts representing the 12 great livery companies, we highlight some of the notable figures remembered around this area and then conclude by returning to the story of the Minotaur.

We explore this city’s unique origin story: How it was set apart from Greater London, The mythologies that inspire it, and the Legends upon whose shoulders many great endeavors have been withstood.
