There's more to this natural history museum than dinosaurs - Our guide Becky, was energising, her enthusiasm and professionalism really made our visit. Getting on a small group tour is an investment in expanding your mind. Sure, you could get an audio guide.. but the content is overwhelming. The museum is huge and there is just so much to see. A guide does an edit for you and walks you through the complexity. If you have special interest they'll try to accommodate you in a bespoke service that no pre-made tour can match. The tour takes the morning but would recommend planning to stay within the Museum for lunch and going back on your own to revisit some of the galleries. The tour didn't ever feel rushed but it had, of necessity, to be selective. Allowing your over-taxed brain a respite over lunch and then returning for another sortie into the collection is a sound strategy. None of the guides I'd read actually mentioned that the building designed by Alfred Waterhouse in 1865 is a marvel. The brief of building 'a cathedral to nature' was delivered. From the gargoyles on the roof to the animals, birds, reptiles and fish that cavort, perch, run and swim around the pillars, pilasters and walls not to mention, the 96 panels of botanical illustrations that decorate the ceiling of the main hall; the terracotta of the structure itself is an homage to nature.

Best tour of Natural History Museum - This tour was amazing. Our guide Ivo was absolutely wonderful. He was super knowledgeable and pointed out all the highlights that we would have missed without him. And he went out of his way to make sure our 9-year-old son enjoyed the tour—and answered our son’s million questions with a smile. Thank you! Highly recommend this!

More than satisaction - This trip is more than satisfaction. We met our tour guide IVO who is incrediablely knowledable. We enjoy this 2.5hours with him, I even have goosebumps when we talk about how small we are and we should be humble to mother earth. You can see from IVO’s eye , he is full of ethusiam of what he is doing. We also got so many intersting facts. Thank you for making our Chinese New Year’s eve so unforgettable.

Review of semiprivate tour of Natural History museum - The guide Ivo was very knowledgeable. He has done masters in geology. The museum itself is fascinating. He showed us the minor details which we would have missed otherwise. The dinosaur section was mind blowing! As was the mining section. Meteor was surreal!

Good value for money - we took the tour with my 10 yo son. The tour was not too long and not too short. Our guide Anthony was great at telling the story and interacting with children. Definitely recommend!
