Highlights
  • Windsor Castle - Windsor Castle is the oldest and largest inhabited castle in the world. It has been the family home of British kings and queens for almost 1,000 years and is today one of the official residences of His Majesty The King.

Occupying over 10.5 hectares, the Castle offers a varied day out for visitors, including a visit to the magnificent State Apartments and St George’s Chapel. The Castle’s State Apartments are furnished with some of the finest works from the Royal Collection, reflecting the changing tastes of the Castle’s royal occupants, particularly those of Charles II and George IV. Many of the works of art are still in the historic settings for which they were first collected or commissioned by the kings and queens who have lived at Windsor.

Visitors can take a self-guided tour of the Castle with a free multimedia tour. From October to March, visitors can also walk through the sumptuous Semi-State Apartments, which served as the private rooms of George IV in the 19th century.

  • St. George’s Chapel - Visit St George’s Chapel, where Prince Harry married Meghan Markle in a ceremony broadcast to millions around the world. Construction on this beautiful chapel began in 1475 under the reign of Edward IV, and today it is the resting place of 10 former monarchs including the infamous Henry VIII.

Great tour - I don’t usually write reviews, but I feel like I needed to address some of the bad ones here because it almost made me cancel. I was scared the trip would be bad after seeing the massive amounts of people in the waiting area, but then realized it was a few groups, so don’t be scared. Got on a very clean bus and the driver (Sam) did very well the entire trip. The guide (Dorothy) was fantastic. Couple things to note. Was she stern with us? Absolutely, because she had to keep track of 37 people and most people don’t listen. So I completely appreciated the reminders. Did she talk the entire way? Yes, because that’s what guides do. Being a huge history buff, we loved it. She knew all the best ways to get around at the 1pm time and we had more than enough time. So I feel like I got what I paid for. And I very much appreciated Dorothy, cause let’s face it. There are always a few in the group who are idiots. Thanks Dorothy!!

Loved this tour, can't recommend enough! - I loved this tour, maybe the most on our recent trip to London. Highly recommend! Ursula was our guide and she had such interesting stories to tell, and personal experiences to share with the Queen and other monarchy. It made us feel more of a connection. Windsor is amazing, and the town is really cute with great shopping, wish we had more time!

Great trip. - Great trip. A lot of walking. Guide was good but I had a little trouble understanding her as English was not her first language. (It might of just been me).

Windsor Castle sans St, Georges Church - St. Georges Chapel was closed last minute and that was a bummer - main reason for tour - purchased tickets way in advance

Trip From Hell - We had high hopes for this experience. They were truly and utterly unmet. I’ll start by saying we at least got to and enjoyed Windsor castle, but that’s where the positivity ends. Our driver Solomon and tour guide Omar were completely unprepared for the days events. They had never met before and therefore had not discussed the issues that would unfold, such as not agreeing on how to get to the castle. The largest problem by far was the lack of air conditioning. This was said to be slow to start and would work by the time we got on the highway. This was a lie. By the time we got to the highway, the temperature in the bus had reached 41’C or 105’F. Omar barely apologized for this, and said that he was hot as well. We weren’t offered water, or to open the roof hatch. To top it off, the used toilet on the bus would not flush. Our day in hell had begun. It was clear Omar had nothing to say about the problems or anything historical as he tried to make a couple poor jokes and seemed annoyed that we weren’t responding correctly. We asked if a new bus would be arriving at the castle to replace the broken one the answer was no, they would try and fix it while we were touring. Now onto the tour. Omar did not have much of any knowledge about the castle, its inhabitants, or the surrounding area. We asked questions and they weren’t answered. He would either say something completely off hand or just flat out say I don’t know and make no attempt to find out for us. For example one member of our group asked if the planes flying into the nearby airport would be diverted when a member of the royal family was at the castle as a safety precaution. Omar’s answer was to laughingly embarrass her by saying to the group that she had asked why the castle was built so close to the airport. Our trip improved greatly once we could explore the castle on our own. But the ticking time bomb of us having to get back on the hell bus was approaching. They had managed to partially repair the a/c by the time we left, but the days oddities weren’t over. Omar told an odd account of Henry 8th and how he wasn’t a bad guy like modern historians say, but just an misunderstood man who really wanted a son. And to top the entire experience off, Omar had the gall to ask for tips to be put in a basket at the front of the bus. Stay away from this tour and if you find Omar is your guide find something else to do.

No compassion for elderly or disabled - Our guide Eileen show no consideration for elderly or disabled members of her group while touring Windsor Castle. Grandchildren were calling out to her to complain about their grandparents being left behind. I personally called her out and told her that her pace could not be maintained. Her response that we should listen to the audio headset and that way we wouldn't miss anything. Not feasible if you're 30 yds. behind her and she explaining something you can’t see. Half the time we didn’t know if we were supposed to be listening to the company provided audio set or the one provided by Windsor Castle. I don’t enjoy leaving a bad review, but this one is more than warranted. My advice would be that she learn to pace her tour based on the average client, not the fastest.

Not a tour - I expected this to be a tour. What we got was a ride to Windsor and a guide who walked us to the entrance and left us there with instructions when to return to the bus. Not what I expected nor wanted 🫤
