Guided by a professional actor, the tour begins at Mansion House Tube, crosses Southwark Bridge to view the iconic Globe Theatre, and returns over the Millennium Bridge to explore the Globe’s history to its original location in Shoreditch, visiting significant sites of the Elizabethan Renaissance Theatre. The guide will share the history of the first British playhouses and perform relevant Shakespearean speeches at key moments. Rich in history, literature, theatricality, comedy, tragedy, fact, fiction, and drama, the tour also features modern sights and sounds, cultural references, stunning street art in Shoreditch, an exciting passage through the Barbican estate, and crosses various boundaries and genres along the way.
