Duration: 11 hours

Highlights
  • Greenwich - We make a short stop in Greenwich on our way out of London. Greenwich forms part of our natural route out of the city and is a great place for us to stop and grab a coffee and use the bathroom before we get out into the countryside. Admire the Cutty Sark - a famous restored 19th century tea clipper sailing ship. Hear stories of Kings and Queens visiting, and learn about the observatory that gave birth to Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) and see the famous Royal Naval College.
  • Chilham Village - Wander round this beautiful example of a traditional English village. Full of charm and centred around a village square, with a church, pub and tearooms. Chilham is perhaps Kent’s most beautiful village
  • The White Cliffs of Dover - We bring you down to the shoreline under the world famous White Cliffs of Dover. One of England’s most iconic natural locations, and a welcome sight for soldiers and pilots returning home from warfare in history. Stroll along the pebble beach with the cliffs behind you, and weather permitting, a view 20 miles across the English Channel to France.
  • Dover Castle - Explore this glorious medieval castle - describes as the “Key to England”. Huge defensive significance throughout English history, and in use as a defensive position since the Iron Age 3000 years ago, also used by the Romans - evidenced by a Roman lighthouse on the site - the most complete standing Roman structure in England. You’ll have a couple of hours to visit this incredible castle - perhaps have a bite to eat in one of their cafes.
  • Canterbury Cathedral - We spend 2.5 hours in Canterbury. Time to explore this famous English city, perhaps do some shopping, have a bite to eat or a drink in one of it’s many charismatic pubs. Perhaps take the time to visit the spectacular UNESCO world heritage site cathedral - the enormous 11th century Canterbury Cathedral. Later, join your guide for a walking tour of the history and highlights of Canterbury, hear stories of Chaucer and the founding fathers, follow in the footsteps of pilgrims visiting the shrine of Thomas Becket, before we head off

Everything we hoped for in a day tour - So many sights and experiences in one day. Our tour guide Cara kept us informed and entertained the entire time. The small, winding country roads were a delight (Cara is an excellent driver!) Grabbed a quick drink in Chilham, and visited the quaint little church there. Beautiful sights in Dover and at Dover Castle. Plenty of time to explore Canterbury and do lots of shopping. A wonderful experience from beginning to end.

Best tour guide ever! - This was a fabulous tour. Jon was an awesome tour guide , both knowledgeable and with a great sense of humor . Each of the places we stopped was very enjoyable and Jon prepared us ahead of time with the information we needed to get the most of the time we were visiting. Would love to go on another tour with Jon again. Maybe for our next visit to England 😀.

Amazing small group tours with outstanding guides! - You will not be disappointed. I was specifically looking for a small group tour of the local highlights and struck the jackpot. Lucy our guide for the tour was absolutely amazing. You can’t find a more knowledgable guide. She is a subject matter expert of the area and topics of our tour and being a former archeologist was an added bonus that is rare. What a great time. I love the small groups and small van experience.

Incredible Day! Amazing Tour & Guide! - We had one of the best tours we've ever been on. To start, the bus was medium sized with a group of 14, the bus was very clean and extremely comfortable, also easy to get on and off quickly. What an incredible day! Visited the quaint little village of Chilham, had the best cake I've ever eaten at The Church Mouse Tea Room, It's a must stop!! Toured the cliffs of Dover down at sea level! Having a smaller bus gave us the opportunity to get down the very narrow roads that lead to the shoreline. We then toured Dover Castle which was very cool, had plenty of time to tour the castle and grab some food. After a short drive we were in Canterbury and had the option of touring the Cathedral or the town, had 2-hours plus for this. Time to grab a snack or beer. Jon, our tour guide, was the best we've ever had!! Jon took those of us who opted for a 45-min/Hr walking tour of the town of Canterbury. Extremely knowledgeable, Jon was exceptional at communicating the plans for the day, tips for each stop. recommendations when we stop, and what to expect at each part of the tour. Jon also kept everyone entertained with stories of history as well. Outstanding Tour & Guide!!
