No partner required. You’ll join the regular weekly beginners swing dancing class of London locals to learn some of the basics and fundamentals of swing dancing. By the end of the dance class you will have some moves enabling you to go swing dancing anywhere in the world. Everyone is welcome from absolute beginners. You don’t need a partner or any experience of dancing at all. Every beginners lesson starts with learning the basic footwork of a swing dancing style, then builds basic moves upon that footwork. We support you to learn how to dance, practice your basics, and think about the fundamentals of swing dancing in new ways. You will rotate partners frequently so you can meet and dance with local Londoners.

Get your dancing shoes ready! This is set to be your most thrilling experience in London.

You’ll get a personal dance companion for a exhilarating night of social swing dancing in London. Known otherwise as ‘lindy hop’ or ‘jitterbug’, swing dancing is a partner-based social jazz dance that appeared prominently in 1930s and 40s films.

We’ll rendezvous with you outside the event location and go inside together. At the dance event, you can participate in any of the beginner’s classes on offer to get a taste of the fundamental steps.

Afterward, we’ll dedicate an hour to you as your sole dance partner (once called a ‘taxi dancer’). This will involve showing you some steps, providing valuable pointers and feedback to enhance your dancing skills, boosting your confidence, and mentoring you on how to invite others to dance. When our time concludes, we’ll send you off to enjoy the rest of the night dancing at the venue.
