Excellent! You should do this. - It was a fairly grey, dank, miserable Sunday morning last Sunday. Pitched up and went on the tour anyway. The guide, Chris, was fantastic. Engaging, funny, friendly, vastly knowledgeable and passionate about the history of Manchester. A true and proud Mancunian. I had small idea of the history of Manchester or its contribution to the world. I could mention dozens of things I learnt on the tour… just mindblowing… but wouldn’t want to spoil it for anyone. Go on this tour.

Outstanding combo of history and stories - Josh was outstanding. That perfect mix of historical overview, anecdotal stories, personality, and narrative theme that makes for an outstanding walking tour. A must take. I’m taking his Manchester tour tomorrow.

A great way to learn about the history and make up of modern day Manchester. - We did the tour today. It took just over 3 hours and the time really did fly by. Mike was our guide and he was funny and informative throughout, with a good loud voice which was great as there were more than 40 of us on the tour. Very interesting tour, covering the history of Manchester in a fair bit of detail together with a good bit about the music scene over the last forty years or so. Not much really about the actual buildings themselves but the tour would have probably been in excess of for hours with more detail on that. My wife and I both thoroughly enjoyed the tour and would recommend it. Last thing is there is NO pressure for payment. At the end, it's up to the individual guests what they want to contribute! A lovely way to spend a few hours!

Fun learning - Mike our guide was everything you'd wish for, he was engaging, informative, personable, funny and entertaining. Don't be put off by the length of the tour cos it happily flies bye, too quickly in fact.

Excellent walking tour of Manchester with a proud Mancunian - Thursday 24th October…Walking Tour with Chris Hoyle. We had a brilliant morning walking through the sights of central Manchester starting at the Alan Turing Memorial in the Gay Village district close to Canal Street and then up through town all the time learning about the history and achievements of proud Manchester from an obviously proud Mancunian. Chris’ knowledge of his city was amazing, bolstered by his continuous research as a playwright championing local history and social events. We felt extremely privileged to have him share his knowledge and experience. Thank you. 10/10

Megan Is The Best Tour Guide ! - We meet up one sunny morning in the park. We were warmly greeted by Megan. Lots of out of towners plus a few locals who were eager to add their knowledge. For the next three hours we covered a lot of Manchester: on foot & historically. We touched on a myriad of topics: music, architecture, politics, insurrection, food, Vimto & the Mancunian way of life. We really enjoyed that Megan brought along a blue tooth speaker & played Manchester music throughout. She even sang for us. Her knowledge was vast. She was charming. She was self deprecating. She was a pleasure to be with for three hours. Taking this tour on your first or second day in Manchester will give you a good lay of the land. It is much easier to orient yourself after taking this tour. We stayed in Manchester foir 13 nights & this tour was a definite highlight !

Do this walk. It’s fabulous. - I only had one day in Manchester. This three hour tour was so perfect. George was a wonderful guide. Easy to hear and full of interesting information about the city and its history. Best walking tour I’ve done in a long while.

Great day....do it!! - This was an absolutely fantastic experience based in large part on our guide, George. The views and history and architecture (etc) were thoroughly incredible but George definitely made the day spectacular! This is a must experience and if George is available, ask for him!!!

Tour guide never showed - We are very disappointed to say that the tour never happened. We booked the tour, showed up 5 minutes before it was due to start and waited 30 mins after the start time and no guide showed up. The other reviews were so positive, I would say it would have been great had it happened.

Unreliable!! - We showed up at 14:50 at the meeting place and waited until 15:10 (start of tour at 15:00), no one showed up. Evidently ours was the only Reservation and they decided to cancel without notifying us. I await the refund of the advance cost...
