The tour begins with a drive along the coastal highway to Peloponnese. Our first stop is the renowned Canal of Corinth, which links the Ionian Sea with the Aegean Sea via the Isthmus. We’ll pause there for about 30 minutes to view the canal from the bridge, and if we’re fortunate, we might witness a ship navigating through the isthmus. Next, we head to Ancient Corinth. Here, you’ll explore the archaeological museum, the Temple of Apollo dating back to 540 BC, the Theater, the Roman Odeon, the Glauke Fountain, the Bema (step) from which St. Paul preached to the Corinthians in 52 AD, and finally, Lechaion Street. Following this, we’ll visit Acrocorinth, or “Upper Corinth,” the Acropolis of Ancient Corinth, which will be a highlight of our tour. The view from there is breathtaking. Acrocorinth was the most significant fortress in the region from ancient times until the Greek War of Independence in 1821. After Acrocorinth, we’ll make our way back to Athens.
