• Isthmus of Corinth - The Isthmus of Corinth is a slender land bridge linking Central Greece with the Peloponnese. The canal carved through it connects the Saronic Gulf with the Gulf of Corinth. Spanning about 6 kilometers, its narrowest section is where the Corinth Canal was constructed (1880-1893). Historically strategic, a wall was erected here in ancient times (late 5th century BC) and remained until the Byzantine era (Hexamilion).

Our journey begins at the impressive Corinth Canal in Peloponnese, the southern peninsula of Greece. This canal links the Saronic Gulf with the Corinthian Gulf in the Aegean Sea.

• Galatas - Galatas is a seaside town in Attica, situated directly across from Poros, separated by a narrow strait. Regular ferry services connect Galatas to Poros.
  The drive from Athens to Galatas is approximately 160 km (about 2 hours and 30 minutes). Ferries depart every half hour throughout the year, with the Galatas – Poros trip taking 5 minutes and costing 4€ for both a person and a car. Alternatively, small boats (1€/person, 5-minute trip) also shuttle passengers across.
• Poros - Poros is a small Greek island in the heart of the Saronic Gulf, near Aegina and Agistri. Its closeness to Athens makes it a popular weekend getaway.
  Poros boasts stunning beaches and a vibrant main town, making it ideal for a short visit. As you approach by ferry, the charming capital with its iconic Clock Tower stands out. Built on a hillside, the town is one of the most picturesque in the Aegean.
  The town is the island’s hub, with traditional taverns and restaurants along the seafront promenade that come alive at night, drawing visitors from around the globe.

• Archaeological Museum of Poros - Situated in Korizi square near the port, the Archaeological Museum of Poros showcases artifacts from the temple of Poseidon on the island and excavations in nearby Peloponnese areas like Methana, Galatas, and Ancient Troezen.
• Municipal Library - Nestled in the streets of Poros Town, the Hatzopoulios Municipal Library was the brainchild of Ekaterini Hatzopoulou. Housed in a Neoclassical building, it features a small cinema room and frequently hosts exhibitions.
• Athens - After the tour, we will return to Athens.
