- Imbros Gorge - The place has a great historical significance as the gorge witnessed an evacuation of several thousands of British soldiers during World War II before heading to Egypt. Back then, the Imbros Gorge mule trail was the only connection between Chania and Sfakia, before the road was built. Remains of this trail can be still seen today.

Positioned in the province of Sfakia, you will find the Imbros Gorge, Crete’s second largest after Samaria. Its stunning landscapes coupled with a simple accessibility level make it a perfect family destination, especially for those looking to expose their children to the wonders of nature. Prior to starting your hike, there will be some time allotted for photo opportunities or breakfast. The gorge can be crossed in roughly 2.5 hours at a relaxed pace. A hiking guide will be tailing your group for security purposes and to offer help if required.
Upon reaching Komitades village, the end point of the gorge, your journey will continue towards Sfakia, a quintessential Cretan village. Here, you’ll have approximately 3 hours split between basking in the Mediterranean Sea and delighting in local Cretan cuisine at one of the village’s taverns. Come the early evening, you will return to your initial pick up locations by bus.
