On this journey, we trace the precise path of Saint Paul. Beginning our journey in Athens, we navigate along the coastal highway to Peloponnese. Our initial halt is at the renowned Corinth Canal, a waterway connecting the Ionian to the Aegean sea. We pause for approximately 30 minutes to admire the canal from the bridge, and if fortunate, catch sight of a ship passing through the isthmus. From here, we head to Kechries, the ancient port of Corinth from where Saint Paul set off on his voyage to Ephesos. Following this, we proceed to Ancient Corinth, where St. Paul resided from 51AD to 53AD, employed as a tent maker. Notable sights include the museum, the temple of Apollo dating back to 540BC, The Theater, the Roman Odeon, the Vima (step) where St. Paul taught Christianity to the Corinthians, and finally Lechaion Street, the main commercial road. We then ascend the Acrocorinth, or ‘Upper Corinth’, the Acropolis of Ancient Corinth, that served as the principal fortress in the region since ancient times. The view from this vantage point is breathtaking.
