Amazing tour with royal treatment - When booking the tour I did not realize it would be private. So for two days I had my own tourguide and chauffeur. My tourguide was Aras, a very sweet man with a lot of knowledge and love for the area. On the first day we looked at beautiful alien looking rock formations and while I was gaping wide eyed at them, Aras assured me the best was yet to come. He was right. I had a the freedom to explore at my own pace which was such a luxury. We visited fairy rocks, an ancient hidden rock monestry, all the while being told about the history of Christian prosecution leading to such constructions. We visited a pottery town where I got to try pottery myself on a kick pottery wheel. I stayed in a cave hotel, I have never been so spoiled in my live. Beautiful suite with a private spa like jacuzzi. Wonderful view. Whenever I would venture within sight of the hotel staff the would hurry to check if I wanted tea or a pillow. Second day was the underground city. A place where thousands of people would hide for months. A stone labyrinth of winding hallways and rooms. We went to one of the carpet workshops where I learned about Turkish carpet creation and how the government is keeping the ancient art alive. After that Aras took me to see some panoramic views and then to drink Turkish coffee with locals and see a village so I could really feel the culture. This was a absolutely wonderful tour and an even more wonderful attentive tourguide. I felt like a princess and was so relaxed while seeing all these beautiful vistas. I had booked my own flights from Istanbul, just 30 euros for a return flight. I got picked up at the airport at the time I had specified. I would recommend doing Istanbul sightseeing first and this second, as Istanbul afterwards seemed bland in comparison.
