Geological movements took place as magma from the Earth’s core elevated, resulting in the creation of a substantial magma chamber, which is an underground lava pool, situated beneath the Earth’s surface between Fagradalsfjall and Keilir, spanning approximately 7 km. Over time, the lava made its way to the surface, resulting in an eruption near Fagradalsfjall. This erupted again in 2022.
The excursion will commence in Reykjavík, with a pick-up from your hotel. We will then proceed to the Reykjanes peninsula, a journey that will last approximately 40-50 minutes.
Upon arrival, we will have a briefing session. Our subsequent walk will take us through the valley, which will be a series of ascents and descents. We will get to see breathtaking otherworldly terrains, giving off an out-of-this-world aura. At the end of this walk, we will witness the planet’s lifeblood – the lava.
This is an experience of a lifetime that you will cherish forever. After this, we will return and transfer you back to Reykjavik.
