• Nesjavallavirkjun - The journey will take you through Nesjavellir, home to Iceland’s second-largest geothermal station. This facility supplies hot water for central heating and electricity to the capital region. Travelers will drive alongside the hot water pipeline that extends from the power plant to the city. (This route is accessible only during the summer months).
• Thingvellir National Park - Thingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site, beautifully combines nature and history. It is the location of Althing, the world’s oldest parliament, established in 930 AD by Viking settlers in Iceland. Visitors can enjoy a leisurely hike down Almannagja gorge, where the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates are diverging.
• Efstidalur II - This is an optional lunch stop. Efstidalur farm restaurant and café offers a diverse menu featuring farm-fresh produce. Guests can savor freshly caught trout from a nearby lake, leg of lamb, beef steak, or original beef burgers. Downstairs, homemade dairy ice cream is available. The farm provides a window view into the barn, and friendly calves and collie dogs can be petted at the entrance.
• Fridheimar - An optional visit to Friðheimar Greenhouse presents a unique chance to explore Icelandic innovation, where tomatoes are cultivated year-round using geothermal energy. Visitors can tour the vibrant greenhouse, taste fresh tomato-based dishes, and learn about sustainable farming in this extraordinary environment.
• Gullfoss Waterfall - Gullfoss Waterfall cascades into a crevice approximately 32 meters (105 ft.) deep. Originating from the river Hvítá, it offers stunning scenery and views that showcase the true beauty of Iceland’s nature.
• Kerid Crater - Kerid is a crater featuring red gravel and a pond at its base. This picturesque site provides excellent photo opportunities. The crater is 55 meters deep, and the pond ranges from 7 to 14 meters in depth.
• Sky Lagoon - The Sky Lagoon is a newly constructed lagoon in the greater Reykjavik metropolitan area. It offers breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean and an invigorating 7-step ritual to rejuvenate your senses. • Geysir - The Geysir geothermal area features several hot springs and geysers. Strokkur is the largest, shooting a water column 15-30 meters (up to 98 ft.) into the air every 8-10 minutes. Adjacent to the geopark, a visitor center offers restaurants, a shop, and a multimedia exhibition.
