This tour is suitable for all skill levels, whether you’re a beginner or an experienced rider. For the well-being of the horses, a weight limit of 220lbs per rider is enforced. Your personal guide will lead you through natural landscapes, ensuring your comfort and sharing insights about the area. For those interested, there’s an optional opportunity to ride your horse into the ocean, provided sea conditions are calm. However, this may be affected by Sargassum seaweed, a natural occurrence in the Caribbean since 2011, which varies with the tide. As an outdoor activity, be prepared for possible rain during the tour. If dangerous weather is forecasted, we will contact you to reschedule. Your guide will provide water and take as many photos as you’d like. St. Lucia’s climate includes a rainy season (June to December) with wet conditions, and a dry season (January to May) with drier trails but less greenery.

One of the tour’s highlights is the option to ride your horse into the ocean, provided sea conditions are favorable—a thrilling and unforgettable experience. Unlike crowded tours, this experience is free from large groups and long lines, making it perfect for travelers who prefer to avoid the crowds and connect more deeply with nature.
- All passenger weights MUST be advised at time of booking. Weight limit of 220lbs / 99kgs / 15st applies.
- Sometimes seaweed and sea conditions may prevent a swim with the horses.
- We do ride out rain or sun as this is an outdoor activity. If the weather is forecasted to be dangerous, we will contact you to reschedule.
- Not recommended for travelers that have recently had surgery.

We are located on Beach Drive opposite the East Gate of the Darren Sammy Cricket Stadium in Beausejour. Take the first right and head on up the forest road which is a short hill. It's just 90 meters to the top. There is parking space available both at the top and bottom of the hill.

Bucket list item ticked! - Such a lovely set up and an amazing experience - staff are friendly with a genuine love of the horses - Arkim was our guide and it’s clear he loves his job and the horses - going in the sea on the horses was the highlight of the day aswell!

Awesome horseback riding trip! - We had a fantastic time! Exceeded our expectations, and when we needed to be back a little earlier our guides customized our experience to see exactly what we wanted but still got back right on time. The beaches were beautiful and it was a great day!

Wonderful day for a - Me & my husband really enjoyed this experience. Neither of us has ridden a horse in years. The horses were healthy and the 2 employees who went with us were very helpful & accommodating. There was also a younger horse and 2 ranch dogs that tagged along! They were so, so sweet. There were 4 of us on the excursion and we were all offered the option to get into the water with our horses. I'm glad I did it! They scheduled a taxi to pick us up from our cruise port and the driver stayed there and took us back as well. It was a relaxing experience, and I recommend it!

This was an amazing... - This was an amazing experience! Took my daughter and two grandchildren for the two hour private horseback ride. Our head guide Stephan was so good with the kids and his love for the horses was very obvious. We were even able to go for a quick ride in the ocean. 10 out of 10 experience.

10/10 Experience - We had an amazing experience! Tevin, our guide, was super friendly and great. The horses were very well behaved, Tevin catered to our experience levels (one advanced and one beginner) and the trail was stunning with two different beaches. 10/10 would recommend and come back!

This is a great activity... - This is a great activity to include during your time on St. Lucia. The guides are excellent and make sure that you are matched with a horse based on your level of riding experience. You get an opportunity to ride a horse bareback into the ocean if you choose. We thoroughly enjoyed our adventure with Arkim, Malick and Tevin. They were awesome!

Unforgettable Experience! - You can’t get much better than this! The views on the way to the beach were amazing and the horses were great too. Our guide, Stefon was very knowledgeable and a blast to hang with for a couple hours. He took a lot of great photos and videos for us too which was very special!
I would highly recommend Sandy Hoofs if you are looking for something unique to do while in St. Lucia! 🩵

Highly recommend, lovely afternoon! - So happy we chose Sandy Hoofs for our horse ride, my partner and I are beginners so were a bit nervous, on arrival you are immediately put at ease by Josh and Keri and receive a 'how to' course in respect of controlling your horse, mounting and hat wearing. I'm quite small so found it hard getting on the horse :-) but our guide was very patient (and an interesting friendly chap) and happy to assist throughout the trek. The trek is along a tree lined path down to a beautiful unspoilt beach where you dismount and have time to chill with bottled water, my partner chose to ride bareback in the sea with the assistance of our guide and a willing horse, the latter wanting to have a good roll/scratch in the sand first (thats the horse not the guide lol), you then take a slow trek back. My horse was quite a character and a bit naughty and delighted in going the opposite way to where I wanted to go or placing me in the bushes, he was very funny. The horses are only allowed to do one trek per day and spend all day Sunday on the beach 'just being horses' it is evident they are loved and cared for. Owners have had a tough time as per their story on their website and we are very privileged to have been allowed to share a couple of hours of their continued adventures.

Cruise Excursion on Short Notice - We booked this tour on short notice the morning our cruise ship docked. They were very responsive and did a great job coordinating our transportation from the ship and scheduling our ride. They made sure we had a great experience and got back to the ship with time to spare. Our Guide (Tevin) did an amazing job. He asked great questions to make sure he tailored the ride to our riding level and comfort. T-he views and the beach rides were amazing!

Horseback ride and ocean swim with horses - The owners Josh and Carrie are delightful. They are very attentive and clearly cate about their guests, their employees and their horses. Their ride consists of a rocky, slow ride to two beaches. Our guide was on foot and so we never exceeded a walking speed. The brief bareback ride into the ocean was delightful and exciting.
