Very enjoyable day - Fernanda thoughtfully had us driven to the hilltop to save me the climb given it’s been just 4 weeks since my knee surgery. She provided a comprehensive overview of the site, its history and findings. She discussed the natural surroundings as well as the artifacts and made sure iur tour included the museum and the video in English so that we came away with a good understanding and wonderful experience of the day. Afterwards she stopped at a wonderful tamale restaurant which we enjoyed immensely.

Take this tour ! Guachtimontones is magical! - Just the drive from Guadalajara to Guachtimontones was interesting, seeing parts of the city you’re likely not to see. Guachtimontones is quiet, you feel like you are making discoveries ! Our guide Fernanda explained the history well then the museum was amazing! Really good supplement to what we had just seen. The highlight was the “gift store”, a lovely man whose family had owned the property and has lived there his whole life. He has continued to discover artifacts himself for decades. And created and sells incredible pieces from obsidian and clay and lava from the very property! And lunch at a roadside stand that Fernanda recommended. Valentino, our driver, was very thoughtful and knowledgeable about the roads and avoiding traffic. Double 5 Stars!!!

Perfecto - Enjoyed the ride out, cool little town and very interesting learning about the archaeological findings on the hill above town. Our guide and driver were great. Also enjoyed seeing where the jewelry is made and stones polished. Highly recommend…

Meeting our People! - Hi!! we came from San Diego to take the tour. We expect to be a good trip but we didn't know it was gonna turn AMAZING. Our guide Ramon was so patient and so thorough made the trip fun for us. A big shout out to Valentin our driver for keeping us safe, he even stop to get me tejuino!! Thank you so much for this experience and for suggesting the books we should look into for more information I always wanted to know my people and my culture and now I can really map my DNA Maping to this area! (I wish I can show you how similar is they map the museum has to the map my 23andMe Gave me a few weeks ago) forever thankful!

Ancient Ruins in Jalisco - Wow, I had never heard of these ruins or the circulation that created them. This tour was eye opening. A fantastic museum/visitor center. A lot of information. You can’t climb on any of these mounds, but the views down to the lake are stunning. I recommend the visitor center first, to provide context to the ruins. Worth your time to check out the gift shop before leaving. A lot of great items created by the locals.
