Great experience - Norberto was an excellent guide on this tour. Professional, knowledgeable and friendly. We learnt a lot on this tour about Mexico.

Worthwhile day trip from Guadalajara - We visited this site with a private tour guide, which was very helpful. On the day we visited, the lighting and the remains of fog made the site more dramatic. The pyramids are impressive and of a different design (like truncated cones) than others. The museum has only a few displays, but these are helpful, as is a video, in putting the site in context.

Don't miss the Museum to really get a better understanding of the place! - We combined this visit with a trip to Tequilla so it made it worth it. It was hot and dry in May so the greenery seen in pictures for Guachimontones was not there but the drive and setting is quite beautiful. The new Museum is worth visiting to get a better perspective - not sure whether to do it before or after. If you have a good guide better to do it later - at least he will explain things and take more time at each site. Timeline wise it is a couple of centuries ago so worth a visit.
