AMAZING Tour - History of Tequila, Tasting, Distillery + Hacienda Exploring, - My sisters and I had the Jose Cuervo tour booked since we wanted to experience riding the old train to Tequila, but due to an unfortunate explosion the tour was cancelled. Luckily, I stumbled across "La Jima" experience in my research and I must say we were all blown away at how amazing this guided tour was. Communication was so efficient via whatsapp. Detailed information regarding payment, pick up, itinerary info was well outlined. Even though we didn't get to experience an old steam train, the spacious suburban truck was a comfortable alternative in reaching Tequila. The hacienda and distillery were so rustic and gorgeous. They do a personalized tequila tasting on site (6 types of Tequila), and they're accompanied by a platter of fruits and chocolate meant to pair with each tequila type. Jorge was our guide and was absolutely wonderful. He was highly knowledgable, and showed patience with our group as we took a long time taking so many photos of the beautiful distillery. I will be booking this tour again with my husband whenever we return. Itinerary included: pick and drop off at hotel, a stop at a Tequila distillery, dinner at a gorgeous Hacienda in Tequila + time to walk and explore the beautiful, classic architecture, sun down hours at a lovely outdoor terrace bar amongst agave fields in Amatitlan. HIGHLIGHT OF trip to Guadalajara! -------- My sisters and I had booked the José Cuervo tour because we wanted to live the experience of traveling on the old train to Tequila, but due to an unfortunate explosion, the tour was cancelled. Fortunately, during my research I found the experience of "La Jima" and I must say that we were all impressed by how amazing this guided tour was. Communication was very efficient through WhatsApp. Detailed information on payment, collection and itinerary was well explained. Incredible Service & Kindness - My family and I opted for the private Suburban tour to Cava de Oro/Tequila for 7 people. Our bilingual tour guide, Leon arrived to our Airbnb in Guadalajara on time and was incredibly accommodating. He let us listen to the music we wanted on the trip there and made it fun and had a cooler full of beer, electrolytes and water. When we got to the Cava de Oro distillery, he was very knowledgeable and explained the tequila-making process. We had the opportunity to take a lot of pictures and sample a bunch of tequila and one mezcal and paired them with different snacks. We then made our way to downtown Tequila and ate a nice meal and obviously drank more tequila. After that we went to the famous Cantaritos El Güero where we drank cantaritos and listened to live banda music and danced. We then were driven back home safely to our Airbnb. The tour lasted about 8 hours. I highly recommend this tour and ask for Leon, he is a super nice guy that’s full of knowledge and a true professional. You can’t go wrong with this tour!
