Best experience - lovely tour - Our street food tour through the San Juan De Dios market was an unforgettable experience, our guide, Tlane, was very friendly and you could tell she loved Mexican food. I consider that we clicked instantly and the tour was A1, the food was delicious and we compared the food terms with those of our country, Peru, since the food in certain aspects was very similar and we were very satisfied with the Mexican food.

Excellent tour of Guadalajara’s history and current culture. - A wonderful tour of the center of Guadalajara. Our guide, Tlane, was very informative and offered insight into the various places, art, and food of Guadalajara. We toured around the cathedral, by import buildings and locations related to forming of the city. We then toured the Mercado Libertad and had wonderful food from various vendors, including fish tacos, menudo, and birria quesadillas.

A great option to see and eat the best of Guadalajara - This tour was a great way to experience multiple things that Guadalajara has to offer. The walking part of the tour was a great highlights overview of Guadalajara historical sites in the city center, as well as some of the modern art installations. Our guide was knowledgeable and very engaging. The second part of the tour was focused on the food where we got to learn about and try multiple different kinds of the local street food specialties. It was a great way to get an introduction to the city and its culture.

Tiago has it all! - First off — It's still hard to believe that Santiago's, "Tiago," English is self taught. He speaks English quite well. At times, we flipped to Spanish, because I speak Spanish as well. It was quite playful. Secondly — Tiago is outgoing and very friendly. His warm manner is graciously respectful as appropriate. It is clear that Tiago enjoys what he does. Tiago knows his history of Guadalajara inside and out. His energetic storytelling style makes the information engaging and real; happy to answer any questions I had. There was never any rush; he informed me that our pace was based on my desires. Local vendors are happy to see him and greet him with happy faces — as a friend they'd missed seeing. At the food market, Tiago explained the local "signature" dishes as we sat at the counter. Further along the market, we stopped to taste "some fruits I'd probably never seen or tasted before." (I'm from US, California specifically) Sharing the names and characteristics as he cut them in half and then I ate the centers. Two of the fruits are meant to be eaten whole and so he took us to the wash station to make sure they were cleaned before I ate them. Because it was two days before La Navidad, the "merchandise" (my term) market was a bit crowded (made for a lively time)...again Tiago explained bits and pieces of interesting stalls, especially the witchcraft stalls. When I showed interest in something he stepped back or stepped forward depending on what I needed. Tiago knows how to read people's needs. As we walked our way across another plaza, history came to life again. I really appreciated how he explained why the indigenous leader's statue was erected directly across from the history of the Spanish reign in Guadalajara as explained through statues against the wall (once you see it, you'll understand my inept description. After closing up our tour, he offered to walk together as we were leaving in the same direction. Tiago's friendly and upbeat manner, knowledge, sincerity, and pride in his city's history shine. I highly recommend Tiago for any group size — solo (as was my tour) to larger numbers of people.
