Crossing Borders and Boundaries

The sun had barely begun to rise when I found myself being whisked away from the familiar shores of Playas del Coco. The early morning air was crisp, and the promise of a new adventure in Nicaragua was enough to shake off any lingering sleepiness. As a seasoned traveler and surfer, the idea of crossing borders to explore new territories always excites me. This time, it was a private tour that promised a day filled with culture, nature, and a touch of the unexpected.

The journey to the border was smooth, with our guide handling all the formalities with ease. It was a relief to have someone knowledgeable by our side, making the crossing as seamless as possible. It was the perfect place to pick up a few souvenirs and immerse myself in the local culture. The energy was infectious, and I found myself lost in the rhythm of the market, savoring every moment.

Nature’s Raw Power

The highlight of the tour was undoubtedly the visit to the Museo del Parque Volcan De Masaya. Standing at the edge of an active volcano, listening to its rumbling and watching the gases rise, was an experience unlike any other. It was a humbling reminder of nature’s raw power and beauty. The guide shared fascinating insights into the volcano’s history, adding depth to the experience.

As the day drew to a close, we embarked on a serene boat ride on Lake Nicaragua, exploring the islets and stopping at Monkey Island. Watching the playful monkeys interact with our guide was a delightful end to the day. The sun began to set, casting a golden glow over the water, and I felt a deep sense of gratitude for the day’s adventures.

Returning to Costa Rica, I reflected on the day’s journey. It was a reminder of the endless possibilities that travel offers and the joy of discovering new places.
