Great day trip - Claudio (main tour guide) in Nicaragua was great. Great places to see and food choices were fantastic. The drive from our Costa Rica hotel to the border (and back) is long- just be prepared-and was a different person than the Nicaragua guide and driver. You have to cross the border on foot in a no man’s land shared by semi-trucks, but that was the only part for us that was outside our comfort zone.

Costa Rica to Nicaragua in a day - This was a beautiful full day experience. We drove from Tamarindo Costa Rica to the Nicaraguan border then walked across. After we drove through town enjoying history, a chocolate making class, visiting the lake and volcano. Our driver was excellent and took good care of us.

Nicaragua - a must see! - This Nicaragua was a main highlight for us all! We were pleasantly surprised by the beauty of Nicaragua from the pacific coast near San Juan del Sur with all the amazing views, lake Nicaragua and its many multi-million dollar homes, the Catarina viewpoint with the Caldera and even within the city streets when we stopped for lunch, the chocolate factory and cigar factory! Our main tour guide Miguel, trainee Gretel and driver Antonio were all very knowledgeable, friendly and great at engaging the group. It was a really long day for us with a 4:30am pickup, but everything was smooth and absolutely worth it!! Highly recommend this!

Long but informative trip - The trip was great and informative, however the initial part of getting through the border was exhausting. Get comfortable shoes, snacks, bottle of water, sunscreen, and a hat. We spent 2 hours outside in line and another hour under the roof, inside the building of Costa Rican border patrol, plus crossing Nicaraguan border patrol. This was the downside of this trip, but there is nothing anyone can do, that's why I'm not removing any stars from the review. We were picked up at 5:15 am from Coco and returned home at 9:30 pm. Crossing back to Costa Rica was much much faster and no people in line.

Amazing! - Amazing authentic experience! Everyone was great! I would not have been able to navigate the border crossing alone. Nicaragua is a beautiful country. Thank you!

A long day but full of interest and history, the extra $20 for horse drawn carriage worth it, especially as it was a very hot da - A day full of history and culture, with a boat ride where we saw Spider monkeys and a Tiger heron. Experienced a Nicaraguan breakfast a lunch.

I recommend Nicaragua tour. - This tour exceeded my expectations. Everything went smoothly and was well organized. I liked Nicaragua very much, especially caldera in Catarina, Lake Nicaragua boat trip and Granada. Special thanks to our Nicaraguan guide Miguel and his team who made this trip even better.

Lovely tour of a lovely country - Great tour of a lovely country.Interesting places to visit and lovely breakfast and lunch. The suggested horse and carriage ride was a rip off and the horses were too thin and pushed in the heat. One of ours slipped. So sad. It could easily have been a walking tour as it wasn’t too far to walk. We were lead to believe it would be too far and too hot.

Great, but be prepared for the immigration process - This was an overall great experience, except the immigration process. It was very confusing and not explained in advance. Basically, there are 2 immigration points going and coming. The pick up driver in Costa Rica cannot enter certain parts of the immigration area in Nicaragua, and vice versa for the Nicaraguan tour guide. They drop you off and you have to walk across a good way to meet the other tour guide in the immigration area . No explanation, only pointing. We figured it out. It also takes a while to get through immigration (going, but fast to return).
But the tour itself was great! Unfortunately, the volcano was closed due to activity. They will substitute something else.
