Highlights
  • University of Guanajuato - We will talk about the origins of the University and admire its staircase and surrounding areas.
  • Plaza Baratillo - We will walk near this square, connecting between its history and its current daily customs.
  • Museo Regional de Guanajuato Alhondiga de Granaditas - We will walk outside this emblematic building of our history, we will be transported to the beginning of the 19th century, when the War of Independence was brewing in the surroundings and right here the first battle occurs.
  • Mercado Hidalgo - Immediately we will move towards the beginning of the 20th century, where Porfirio Díaz, the President of Mexico, goes to inaugurate this great building with the aim of being a public market, so many stories occurred from its beginnings to the present day. Join us to learn more about its workers as well as the culinary traditions of our city.
  • Plaza de la Paz - Let’s admire this great square, where you can see the sculpture of Rafael Contreras known as “La Paz”, as well as the Collegiate Basilica of Our Lady of Guanajuato, according to your interests we will pay more attention to the Palace of the Powers, or to the house of the Conde Rul, or the Mariana Gallery, among others.
  • Guanajuato - This sixth attraction, I consider it more generic, since according to the special interests of the traveler we adapt the tour to alleys with murals, or alleys with views, or special photographic interests, among others.
  • Subterránea Miguel Hidalgo - We cannot understand the conformation of the city without going back to the history that its hills and rivers keep, and in particular: the development of the mining industry and the use that was given and has been given in the city of Guanajuato.

Guanajuato/SMA Private Tour - I traveled with my mom to Guanajuato and I wanted a private tour so that I could get acquainted with the town since I would be there for a month. I booked two separate tours with Susana, a 3 hour walking tour and a San Miguel de Allende/ winery day long tour. Susana is a richly knowledgeable historical guide, incredibly friendly, and worked out all the details with me promptly and without hesitation. She met us at our location, gave us great advise and tips on what to do while in town. She's absolutely lovely and my mother enjoyed spending time with her as did I. I learned so much about the area and region and it could not have happened without Susana. I highly recommend this tour company.

Walking the streets of Guanajuato - Berenice was my guide and she was terrific! I had already been in Guanajuato for 3 weeks and wanted to do a walking tour on my last day. She took me to some great places that I had never been to! We even had some unique tasty fruits from Mercado Hildago. I really appreciate the time and all of the knowledge she shared with me. I really enjoyed walking in the tunnels under the city to get a different point of view. So glad I took this tour!

Excellent Tour - What an excellent tour! Susana was wonderful, from her knowledge and passion of Guanajuato to her guidance and recommendations for just about anything. We stopped at some of the best food stands along the tour, and she easily adapted to whatever we were interested in trying. We felt we left the tour with a new friend and a deeper understanding of the city itself. Highly recommend.

Roberto was outstanding. Well worth your time!!! Guanajuato becomes 3 dimensional with this tour! - Roberto, our tour guide, was outstanding! While we tried to practice our beginner Spanish throughout our trip, we were relieved to be able to understand Roberto's excellent English as it allowed us to get the most out of the many insights he provided throughout our time together. My 20 year old son and I both loved how Roberto peeled back layers of Guanajuato-- allowing us to see an entirely different dimension of the city. He was entertaining and knowledgeable. He was adept at making his narrative feel like our spontaneous conversation. At the end, he gave us great recommendations for food stalls in the Hidalgo Mercado and even walked us in the rain to a restaurant he recommended.

Great tour, a little short - This was a really great tour and I enjoyed learning more about Guanajuato. My guide, Alecxai was super knowledgeable and interesting. He also recommended what became our favorite restaurant in Guanajauato. Only downside, was the tour was almost exactly 2 hours and did not include the following at all: "Guanajuato This sixth attraction, I consider it more generic, since according to the special interests of the traveler we adapt the tour to alleys with murals, or alleys with views, or special photographic interests, among others." I was really looking forward to exploring our personal interests and was disappointed we did not.

Insightful and Personal Walking Tour with Antonio - We had an exceptional walking tour of Guanajuato with our guide, Antonio. He provided us with a fascinating history lesson, sharing not only the rich historical details of the city but also personal stories from his own upbringing in the city center. Antonio was very considerate, adjusting the pace to match our comfort, and we never felt rushed. It was a thoroughly enjoyable and educational experience, thanks to Antonio’s expertise and thoughtful approach. Highly recommend!

Great for teens and adults! - Susannah was incredibly informative and able to pivot to our interest. She was raised in the town and knows everything about it. She provided a great history of the town, which we loved for our teenagers. They pay more attention to her than they do to their history classes! She also had great recommendations on restaurants, bars, and ice cream parlors! All vital things to our trip! We couldn’t recommend her more highly.
