- Li River - Embark on a Li River cruise from Guilin to Yangshuo, a must-see highlight of any visit to northeastern Guangxi Province. The stunning Karst peaks offer delightful surprises at every turn of the clear river beneath the blue sky. Water buffaloes relax in the fields, farmers harvest rice paddies, and schoolchildren and fishermen glide by on bamboo rafts. With its awe-inspiring scenery, life on the river provides a glimpse into a world far removed from the bustling city life.
Your day begins with a hotel pickup at 8:00 AM in Guilin. From there, you’ll travel to Zhujiang pier to board the cruise boat. The cruise lasts about 4 hours (from 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM), during which you’ll enjoy the breathtaking views of the Li River.

- Yangti Dyke - Yangdi Village is situated on the west bank of the Li River, approximately 50 km (31 miles) from Guilin and 40 km (25 miles) north of Yangshuo County. Behind the village is a hill with twin peaks resembling two sheep hooves hanging upside down, giving the village its name Yangdi, which harmonizes with ‘Yangti’, the Chinese term for ‘sheep hooves’.
- Jiuma Mountain - Mural Hill (Jiuma Mountain), also known as Nine Horses Fresco Hill, is a must-visit attraction along the Li River. Located on the west bank of the Li River, about 60 km (37 miles) from Guilin and near Xingping Town, it features a large, steep stone cliff resembling a painted screen. With five peaks and weathered rocks in yellow, white, black, grey, and green, the cliff face appears like a mural depicting nine horses in various poses.
- Xianggong Mountain - Initially, Xianggong Mountain was an obscure small karst hill on the west bank of the Li River in Yangshuo County, Guilin. A few years ago, a local photographer captured images from the mountain’s summit, winning a bronze prize in an international photography contest, which catapulted Xianggong Mountain to fame. It has since become a popular destination for photography enthusiasts.
- Xingping Town - Historically, Xingping Town was the largest town along the Li River, located 63 km (39 miles) from Guilin and 25 km (15.5 miles) from Yangshuo, on the river’s east bank. The town is surrounded by captivating scenery, with Mural Hill and Yellow Cloth Shoal as part of this scenic area.
- Xingping Fishing Village - Situated on the east bank of the Li River upstream from Yangshuo, this fishing village boasts a history of over 500 years, dating back to the Ming Dynasty in 1506. The village is rich in typical Lingnan or southeastern Chinese provincial culture.
The village features 48 traditional residences that have been remarkably preserved over the years. These homes are characterized by blue brickwork, black tiles, sloping roofs, horse head walls, cornices, and carved windows, exemplifying Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911) dynastic architecture.
- West Street - After the river cruise, a visit to Yangshuo’s West Street for 30 minutes is planned.
West Street is Yangshuo’s oldest street, with a history spanning over 1,400 years. Located in the heart of Yangshuo County, the street has become a cultural hub since the 1980s, serving as China’s largest ‘foreign language center’. It is the most vibrant area in Yangshuo, attracting around 100,000 foreigners annually for travel or advanced studies. Visitors are drawn to West Street for its unique cultural blend.
West Street stretches 517 meters (1,696 feet) long and 8 meters (26 feet) wide, winding in an ‘S’ shape. Fully paved with marble, it exemplifies a southern China street, admired by foreigners for its simple style and courtyard-like ambiance. A local saying describes it as ‘half village, half stores’.
- Yangshuo Park - Yangshuo Park, located in Yangshuo, spans an area of 230,000 sq m (271,000 sq yd). The park features both large and small gates, with the park’s name inscribed in Chinese by renowned calligraphers. The park is filled with osmanthus trees and bamboo, offering a tranquil and secluded environment for visitors. Double Moon Stream flows through the park, surrounded by magnificent mountains. Many locals engage in exercise and play Chinese chess within the park.
