- Metropolitan Cathedral of Santiago of Guatemala - This impressive twin-towered structure, built in the neoclassical style and completed in 1815, has withstood three major earthquakes: 1830, 1917, and 1976. During Lent and Holy Week, the cathedral is adorned with Catholic fabrics and vibrant vigils.
- Palacio Nacional - This stunning green building was constructed between 1939 and 1943 by then-President Jorge Ubico to serve as the National Palace or government house. It was declared a Historic, Cultural, and Artistic Patrimony of Guatemala in November 1980 and is now open to the public as a museum.
- Iglesia El Santísimo Nombre de Jesús, Templo De La Recolección - This Neoclassical church, built in the 18th century, hosts numerous vigils during Holy Week. Its main procession, featuring the revered images of Nazarene Jesus and the Sorrowful Virgin, takes place on “Passion Saturday” (April 16th).
- Iglesia Santo Domingo - Santo Domingo is a Neoclassical church constructed in the 18th century. During Holy Week, its most renowned procession is the “Buried Lord” on Good Friday.
