Hiking Roqueta Isle - This trip was a wonderful experience. We were picked up by our driver Manuel who was a mine of information about Acapulco. We met with our guide Samuel on the pier next to Caleta Beach. He organized the ride over and then guided us the long way along the isle and back up to the summit (note, it is about 3 Km and has a lot of steps and some narrow parts of trail. Along the way he gave us a great nature and history discussion of the island. We reached the Light House for a wonderful view of the whole of Acapulco Bay - well worth the effort, but don't take it lightly in the heat of the day. Samuel gave us lots of great information and then led us the steep, but shorter way straight down to the Isle pier for our trip back to the city. Manuel then took us on a short tour to see the Cliff Divers. He recommended the hotel view ($10 entry includes a drink) but well worth it, since the free public platform viewing was packed with people. Then he drove us to an authentic Mexican restaurant in the old downtown area - food was excellent! Manuel then gave a guided drive tour (included a stop at 'Los Flamingos' - worth the stop) back to the Diamante beach area. Both Manuel and Samuel were great guides.
