The day starts with a hotel pick-up between 4:30 and 5:00 am. The journey begins by heading northwest of Cusco to the charming town of Mollepata, showcasing the lush Apurímac River valley. In Mollepata, a delightful breakfast awaits to energize everyone for the adventure ahead. The trip continues to Soraypampa, the hike’s starting point, situated at 3,900 meters above sea level. After a brief rest, the hike to Humantay Lake, located at 4,180 meters (13,779 feet) above sea level, commences. The ascent takes approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes, offering breathtaking views. Following the guide’s explanation and some souvenir photos, there will be time to enjoy the scenery before returning to camp for lunch, accompanied by stunning panoramic views of the snowy peaks. The day concludes with a transfer back to Cusco.
