Silver Cave is located in Maling Town, Lipu County, approximately 85 kilometers (53 miles) south of Guilin’s city center and 18 kilometers (11 miles) from Yangshuo. It is the largest karst cave in Guilin, showcasing the allure of the typical karst landscape in southern China. Countless crystal stalactites hang from the cave’s ceiling like stars in a cascading Milky Way. They sparkle like silver and diamonds under the colorful lights, giving the cave its name: Silver Cave. Due to the imagery associated with the name, there is a saying: “One will never be down and out as long as one reaches the Silver Cave”. The cave’s majestic, otherworldly features make it an outstanding example of karst landscapes worldwide.
