• Bulguksa Temple - Bulguksa Temple (Historic Site No. 502)

The construction of Bulguksa Temple is believed to have been initiated by Prime Minister Kim Daeseong during the reign of King Gyeongdeok of Silla in 751, and was completed by the government following his passing. Most of the original structures were destroyed during the Japanese invasions. The current temple was completed after extensive excavations and renovations. The cultural assets within the grounds, including the Dabotap and Seokgatap pagodas, and the Cheongungyo, Baegungyo, Yeonhwagyo, and Chilbogyo Bridges, showcase the restorers’ exceptional skills with stone structures. The framed stone structure, constructed from granite material connected with joints similar to those in wooden architecture, was also built in the mid-8th century. Its aesthetic architecture, featuring a unique technique, represents a high level of stone craftsmanship during the Shilla period.

• Woljeonggyo Bridge - Woljeonggyo Bridge was a place that only nobles and high-class individuals could pass. The bridge was constructed during the Silla dynasty. The current version was restored in 2008. There is a love story associated with a monk and Princess Yosuk.

• Gyeongju Gyochon Traditional Village - A university once existed in Gyochon Village during the Silla dynasty. A notable place to visit in Gyochon Village is Mr. Chui’s house.

• Daereungwon Tomb Complex - This site is where Silla’s ancient tombs are located and is considered a symbol of Silla. The ancient tombs resemble museums. There are a total of 23 tombs in the park, belonging to kings, queens, and nobles.

• Cheomseongdae Observatory - Cheomseongdae Observatory is National Treasure No. 31. It was constructed in the 7th century. Stars were observed in the sky through the Cheomseongdae Observatory.

• Donggung Palace and Wolji Pond - Donggung Palace and Wolji Pond (Historic Site No. 18)

Donggung and Wolji served as the secondary palace site. After Silla unified the Three Kingdoms, a large pond was excavated. The pond was adorned with beautiful flowers, trees, and rare birds and animals. Established in the 19th year of King Munmu (A.D. 679), Donggung was the venue for significant national events and important visitors. It is also the location where, following the invasion of Gyeonhwon, King Gyeongsun hosted a reception for Wang Geon to seek assistance. Samguk Sagi only recorded the Imhaejeon Pavilion. The current site is presumed to be the location of Donggung and Wolji. Hoerang (corridor area) and 26 other building sites were discovered around Wolji, including three building sites of the five from the Silla Kingdom to the west of the pond. Donggung and Wolji (Anapji) were restored in the 1980s and remain to this day.
