Honeymoon ride of a lifetime!!! - The Ha Giang loop was truly a once in a lifetime experience!! Every single turn revealed another vista more breathtaking than the last. Our guides, Hiep and Toa, truly went above and beyond to make sure my husband and I were safe, comfortable and having fun. Hiep was so accommodating when I was feeling sick and he also bought us gloves when our hands were cold. They were flexible about the itinerary and let us adjust to our preferences. Home stays were all simple but clean and welcoming. Green Hill helped arrange our buses to/from Hanoi and were very easy to communicate with on WhatsApp. Would absolutely recommend doing the loop with this company!!

Unforgettable 4 Days - This was a 10 out of 10 experience! From the initial booking to the drop off at our hotel after 4 days on motorbikes the Green Hills Hostel and tours did everything they could to make our experience memorable.
They were super easy to communicate with through WhatsApp. They arranged our transport from Hanoi to their hostel. We arranged to have a private tour because we weren’t really interested in being in a group of 10 or more motorbikes. We had 2 easy rider guides as well as another couple that drove their own bike. The small group was really fun and provided opportunities for flexibility because we were a group of three bikes.
Our guides Tinh and Thai were amazing! Tinh was a great leader. There were lots of bikes on the loop due to some festivals and he knew where to stop to avoid big crowds. Evernote though there were lots of bike touring we often felt like we were the only ones on the loop. Tinh answered all our questions and shared what he knew about the countryside. Green Hills also arranged to have a birthday cake for my husband while we toured! Really thoughtful and it made his birthday much more special!
The sights are amazing and it was fun to ride through all the small towns and villages. We requested private rooms and always had comfortable rooms with our own bathroom at each home stay. I highly recommend this tour. For us, the small group option was perfect but I’m sure the larger groups are a blast too!

Gem of a trip. - An amazing experience from start to finish.
Firstly the guides we had were two of the loveliest people we had the pleasure of meeting on our Vietnam trip. Binh & Cheung made us feel safe, comfortable & at ease throughout our 4 day trip. They were both professional & lots of fun. Their experience on the loop made it so enjoyable & the knowledge of the route allowed them to stop at less busy but just as beautiful stops. There was nothing they wouldn’t do to ensure we had a brilliant time.
The route itself is spectacular. Every corner you turn or pass you climb up just gets more & more beautiful by the second. The activities included in the trip were the cherry on the cake. Meeting local trades people making exquisite products & the boat ride were definite highlights. We loved the knowledge our guides had regarding the different ethnic tribes & it was fun to learn all about this area of Vietnam.
The accommodation was varied over the 3 nights away. All clean, welcoming & offered lovely meals in the evening & breakfast just as you expect home stays to be. Be warned though the beds are hard, you may want to brings a sleeping bag/mat for a little more comfort. Our favourite of the 3 was the last evening Lay Ty, beautiful village, the hosts were warm, the food was incredible & the room was definitely the most high end.
I would do this trip again if I was fortunate enough to go back to Vietnam.
Don’t book with anyone else.

Unforgettable trip. Best drivers ever. - These guys are locals, so friendly & funny + they know everyone + every nook and cranny - so you won’t miss anything & you’ll be looked after every step of the way. Binh & Cheoung (sorry if spelled wrong), our marvellous drivers are Batman & Robin, the dream team of North Vietnam. The roads are an amusement park ride, the stunning scenery is postcard material. This trip could not have been better, I could write pages. We feel very lucky to have joined this tour.

Excellent - Our 4 day/ 3 night private tour was by far the best experience we’ve had.
The people running the show were so accomodating and catered to our every needs.
The tour is very flexible in terms of stopping and taking photos etc.
Our guide Tung spoke very good English which made communicating and the occasional banter along the way a breeze.
I would 100% do this tour again.

One of the most amazing experiences you could imagine..... - My wife and I had such a fun time, awesome cultural immersion. An antidote to the tourism mayhem of Hoi An. We were easy riding with Thang and Guong, just the four of us, both Ha Giang locals. Thang spoke great english, we also brews happy water for his family and is a real foodie. Our small group made us a little more flexible for stopping anywhere roadside. We would meet up in the homestays at night with the larger groups at night, amazing meals, happy water and often karaoke. At our first lunch together Thang realised how much I loved nuoc cham (Vietnamese dipping sauce), the next meal it wasn't on the table, Thang disappeared for 5 minutes and came back with a bowl of nuoc cham he has just made. He did this for pretty much every one of the seven meals we shared together, he seemed to have access to all the restaurant kitchens, he seemed to know everone.
Communication was with Huong (?sp.) via WhatsApp, very easy, she arranged transport from Hanoi, luxury sleeper bus which arrived at 3am, we went straight to bed in a little cottage and departed later that morning.
HOT TIP: It is Spring over there now, somewhat unsettled weather, 15c cloudy with showers, 2 days later 32c with blazing sun. We were in Northern Vietnam + Da Nang/Hoi-An, Halong for 15 days, we only pre-booked our first two nights in Hanoi and remained completely flexible. We watched the weather forecast on Accuweather for Ha Giang and when we saw an upcoming nice weather window we booked our Ha Giang loop tour and has some lovely sunny weather including swimming.
Even if you consider yourself an experienced motorbike rider don't be tempted to ride your own bike within the tour, to be able to sit on the back, take photos, drink a beer or two at lunch time and completely relax. The traffic 'rules' are amazing, it seems to work but it was great to have an expert in front. We saw two tourists who had had minor accidents with extensive grazing.

Amazing Adventure - This was a bucket list trip for me. Viator made it very easy to book and it was much more dependable than booking with tour groups in Hanoi. The tour operator for this adventure was Greenhill Homestay and they were wonderful and very helpful. Contacting them through Viator can also make it easy to get a bus from Hanoi to Ha Giang with a dropoff at the Homestay. That was a mistake for me as I booked on the internet and the bus dropped me off 20 miles from the Homestay.
My guide was friendly and helpful. His English was good enough to communicate...and that is not always the case in Vietnam.
The people I met on the road were crammed into large hostel rooms and this tour does not do that. I did meet some great people at each stop but if you want to be alone, that works as well if you have a private room which I paid a bit extra for....and it was worth every bit of what I paid.
I cannot recommend this tour highly enough.
