Ha Giang Adventure - Discover the enchanting Ha Giang province by motorbike. Marvel at the scenic rice terraces cascading down the mountainside. Navigate the winding highway etched into the mountains. Engage with locals who have only recently been introduced to Western visitors. Ha Giang promises an unforgettable adventure.
Our guide will meet you around 9am. The morning will be dedicated to honing your motorbike driving skills. Around 1pm, we will regroup to commence the trip. During lunch, you will receive a motorbike briefing before heading to Nam Dam village. A local guide will accompany you to show the way.
Quan Ba Heaven Gate - The 45km drive is breathtaking, passing through traditional villages, stunning valleys, and ascending mountains. We will make numerous stops for photos and breaks. Among the stops are the Fairy Bosom hills in Quan Ba and a UNESCO-recognized geopark.
We will spend the night in Nam Dam village with a host family. The afternoon and evening are yours to explore the village, hike, assist our host family with dinner preparations, or simply relax. Dinner includes local rice or corn wine, also known as “happy water.”
The journey continues the next day after breakfast.
Mun Homestay & Bungalow - Mun homestay is a Dzao family we have partnered with for a long time. Meet Pay and her family, your hosts for the night.
Nam Dam – Dong Van: Visit a Hemp Linen making village, and drive through the stunning Dong Van Karst Plateau Geopark
Lung Khuy Cave - After breakfast at our homestay, we’ll pack up the bikes and set off for the next part of our adventure.
Climb to Lung Khuy cave at the top of a mountain for an incredible view and some cave exploration.
Lung Tam Linen Cooperative - We’ll stop in the picturesque village of Lung Tam, known for its Hemp Linen production. Watch the entire process from start to finish and try your hand at rolling out the cloth—it’s more challenging than it looks!
Yen Minh - Yen Minh is a town in the valley we pass by. We will stop here for lunch.
Dong Van Karst Plateau Geopark - After lunch, we’ll continue to a guest favorite—Dong Van. We highly recommend planning your trip to pass through Dong Van on Sunday, when the villagers host their weekly highland market. It’s a vibrant social gathering where locals buy and sell goods and livestock.
Dinh Vua Meo - The Mansion of the opium king in the region, a notable architectural attraction.
Lung Cu Flag Tower - Visit the northernmost point of Vietnam. From Lung Cu Flag Tower, you can see across the border into China.
Dong Van - Arrive at Dong Van town center, check into our hotel, and stay the night.
Dong Van - Meo Vac – Du Gia: Hike over Ma Pi Leng Pass, visit Tu San Alley, then continue to Du Gia
Chợ Đồng Văn - Check with us about dates and times for the local markets. It’s a cultural experience you won’t want to miss.
Our Friday departures always include the Sunday market experience in either Dong Van or Meo Vac.
Ma Pi Leng Pass - One of the most epic and picturesque roads in Vietnam. Have your camera ready and be prepared for many photo stops. We will hike on top of the pass for a 4-hour trek.
Mã Pí Lèng Pass - The mystical Tu San Abyss Alley, located between Meo Vac and Dong Van districts in Ha Giang Province, Vietnam.
This alley is considered the most majestic, with cliffs reaching up to almost 1000 meters, a length of almost 2 km, and a depth of about 1000 meters.
Tu San Abyss Alley was naturally formed millions of years ago when this region was still under the ocean. As the water receded, it created this unique geological heritage.
Meo Vac - Meo Vac is a charming district capital surrounded by steep karst mountains. After Ma Pi Leng, we will stop for lunch here before continuing to Du Gia.
Du Gia - A small village in the Du Gia National Reservation. This is our destination after lunch.
A beautiful 70 km road, highly praised by motorbike riders. We’ll check into a homestay for the night.
Du Gia - Pac Po via Me Pia Pass: Enter Cao Bang Province
Du Gia - Du Gia National Park is dedicated to protecting the evergreen closed tropical moist forest ecosystems, including limestone karsts and endangered species. We will walk to a waterfall and relax in the morning before slowly riding back to Ha Giang.
Thâm Luông Waterfall - Spend the morning visiting the waterfall near our homestay and enjoy a dip in the crystal-clear water before traveling back to Ha Giang.
After our farewell lunch, we’ll drive back to Ha Giang, arriving by 4 pm to drop you off at your hotel. If you are catching our transfer back to Hanoi, our van will drop you off at around 10:30 pm in Hanoi center.
Ha Giang - After lunch, we will continue to Hoang Shu Phi District. Note that the road is very mountainous and scenic but also prone to landslides during heavy rains.
If there has been bad weather, you may need to wait for the road to be cleared. Due to narrow roads and stunning scenery, progress will be slow with frequent stops. We will reach our homestay in Thong Nguyen around 5 pm, where we will spend the night.
Thông Nguyên - We will reach our homestay in Thong Nguyen around 5 pm, where we will spend the night.
Hoang Shu Phi District - Chieu Lau Thi mount - Sapa
Chieu Lau Thi Mountain Top (Kiou Leou Ti) - Hoang Su Phi is an isolated town in a steep valley. Its streets are incredibly windy and steep. On a rainy and grey day, it can feel gloomy despite its dramatic location. On our journey to Sapa via Hoang Su Phi, we will experience a great ride, but be prepared for a full day in the saddle as road conditions can be challenging. Our experienced team of drivers ensures a safe journey.
Bac Ha Market - We strongly recommend planning your trip to pass through Bac Ha on Sunday when the villagers host their weekly highland market. This event allows locals to buy and sell goods and livestock and serves as a highly anticipated social gathering.
Lao Chai - Our lodge in Sapa will be our stop for the night.
Fansipan mount
Fansipan - As we begin our hike, we will immediately enter brush and forest. The trail is well-maintained, initially paved, with large stepping stones over cold mountain streams. Some trees, bushes, and flowers are labeled. The canopy is thick but allows light to shine through, illuminating patches of the forest floor, thick with roots and fallen leaves. The first hour of the hike is peaceful, quiet, and gentle, reminiscent of walking in the Welsh landscape on a damp but bright spring day. A few hours into the climb, the forest gradually fades, transitioning from a thick canopy to a spindly covering with bald patches until it disappears, leaving us hiking along an exposed ridge. Although open to the elements, the views over the forested valleys and mountains are breathtaking.
Sapa - End of the Tour
Lao Chai - Take your time in the morning to relax and enjoy the mountainside at our farm stay near Sapa. Alternatively, visit a workshop on the traditional linen-making process. After our farewell lunch, we will board our bus back to Hanoi at around 2 pm, arriving in Hanoi Center by 8 pm to drop you off at your hotel.

This is a self-ridden motorbike tour, a relevant license valid under Vietnamese jurisdiction is a must. Please contact us to advise further. A shared car tour is offered every Friday. **Sitting on the back of our team is possible. Sapa, has become the tourism center of the northwest region. Offering breathtaking views on clear days, the town overlooks a plunging valley surrounded by towering mountains. Although mist often rolls across the peaks, the town is always filled with color from the local hill-tribe people. Sapa remains northern Vietnam’s top destination for trekking enthusiasts who can launch themselves into a surrounding countryside of cascading rice terraces and tiny hill-tribe villages that seem a world apart. Fansipan, the highest mountain in Indochina at 3,143m (10,312ft), is also included in this excursion, making it a real challenge even though it can be climbed with specialist equipment, guides or porters.
