Hanoi – Ha Giang

Thon Tha Village - After being picked up at your hotel, embark on a 6-hour journey to Ha Giang. Experience the transition from the bustling city of Hanoi to the tranquil countryside. Take breaks for photos or short walks in the fields along the way. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant en route.

Arrive in Ha Giang city around 4 PM.

Spend the rest of the day exploring Tay villages, where you’ll find lush green rice fields, traditional wooden stilt houses with palm leaf roofs, or cool off in a nearby stream. Savor a local dinner and call it a night.

Ha Giang – Quan Ba – Yen Minh – Dong Van

Dong Van Karst Plateau Geopark - Begin the day with an early rise for a sunrise photo opportunity. After breakfast, ascend the mountain to Dong Van Karst Plateau Global Geopark. Make stops in Quan Ba and Yen Minh to admire the exotic scenery and take photos. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant in Yen Minh town.

After lunch, proceed to Dong Van. Along the way, take a 1.5-hour walk on mountain trails through local Hmong villages before visiting the old Palace of the Hmong King in Sa Phin valley. Arrive in Dong Van around 4:30 PM. If time allows, take a leisurely walk up to the French Fortress of Dong Van for a panoramic view of the town at sunset.

Dong Van – Trek In Ma Pi Leng Pass – Cao Bang City

Ma Pi Leng Pass - Start the day with a visit to the Dong Van market. If it’s Sunday, you’ll witness the unique weekly market fair of the Hmong people. Enjoy a traditional Vietnamese morning coffee in Dong Van Old Quarter. After the market, a 20-minute drive will take you to the starting point of the Ma Pi Leng pass hike. Be prepared to be awed by the stunning beauty of this top-of-the-world destination. This 2.5-hour trek takes you to the top of the pass, winding through local Hmong villages and cornfields, and ends with a stroll along the high corridor path overlooking the Nho Que river and Tu San canyon. After a short break to admire the scenery, continue to Cao Bang City. Lunch will be in Bao Lac district.

Cao Bang – Ban Gioc Waterfall – Nguom Ngao Cave – Quang Uyen

Ban Gioc Waterfall - Detian Falls - Set off to the breathtaking Ban Gioc waterfall, the fourth largest border waterfall in the world, located between Vietnam and China. Stop along the way for a short walk around Phuoc Sen village, a Nung village known for its traditional knife-making craft. Enjoy a picnic lunch at the waterfall and relax.

Visit the stunning Nguom Ngao limestone cave, also known as Tiger cave, before returning to a homestay in an incense-making village of the Nung people. Discover village life and the traditional incense-making process. For more adventure, consider a 1-hour hike up the mountain behind the village for a panoramic view and a sunset break at the peak.

Quang Uyen – Ba Be Lake – Cycling In Ba Be National Park

Ba Be National Park - After breakfast, take a 3-hour drive to Ba Be Lake, winding through five mountain passes. Arrive in Cho Ra town by lunchtime. After lunch, head to your homestay in Pac Ngoi village, where you’ll start a 4-km bike ride on a local path to Hua Ma cave, renowned as the most beautiful limestone cave in Northeast Vietnam. Spend an hour hiking up to explore the cave and admire its stalactites and stalagmites.

After visiting the cave, return to Ba Be Lake at Pac Ngoi village, an authentic Tay village by the lake. After checking in at the homestay, walk to Pac Ngoi wharf for kayaking and a refreshing swim in the lake.

Ba Be Lake Half Day Boating – Hanoi

Ba Be National Park - Enjoy your final breakfast in this rural paradise before a 3-hour boat tour around the lake. Take a short walk to Cam village to experience the local nature, people, and school at the end of the lake. Follow the Nang river to Puong cave, a tunnel cave filled with fascinating limestone stalactites, stalagmites, and mysterious bats. Continue to Buoc Lom wharf, where you’ll bid farewell to Ba Be and return to Hanoi.
