Informative and Leisurely - On a recent visit to Haarlem , my wife and I decided to take the hop on - hop off boat cruise. We had a relaxing trip with a very good guide. The only problem that other people may have experienced during the day was the infrequency of boats. We were on the first trip of the day and the boat filled quickly. It was a nice day and I could see the possibility of people not being able to conveniently "hop on" and having to wait awhile for another boat.

No HoHo For Wheelchair Users - Had bought a 24 hour Hop on Hop off ticket for our trip to Haarlem and was looking forward to using it to get about and visit the sites however...on arrival at their main dock at Spaarne we were told that my wheelchair is not allowed on the boat! I can be helped on and off the boat but my chair must stay at the dock at Spaarne, therefore I cannot hop off anywhere as I would not have my chair with me! We decided that the round trip cruise would be ok. rather than miss out completely, and thay way at least we get to see all the city at once from the water, and the staff helped me to board, and took my chair away and stored it safely, and even carried our hot drinks - there is a little cafe at the dock - on board for us; very kind. Our captain - captain Coch - was a jolly guide and spoke to us in English in between the taped commentary and also added anecdotes to taped stuff, which he said in 3 languages. He was very good. We picked up at 2 other HoHo stops during our trip, and noticed that the spots weren't very well signposted, and also the dock was not accessible either, so had my chair been allowed on board, we dont feel we would have managed to get on/off at the other stops anyway. The actual tour was enjoyable and we would have been very happy had we only booked the 50 minute tour and captain coch was very good and very helpful. For the 50 minute tour we would give a higher rating.
