Highlights
  • Teylers Museum - Teylers Museum is an art, natural history, and science museum in Haarlem, Netherlands. Established in 1778, Teylers Museum was founded as a centre for contemporary art and science. The historic centre of the museum is the neoclassical Oval Room (1784), which was built behind the house of Pieter Teyler van der Hulst (1702–1778), the so-called Fundatiehuis (Foundation House). Pieter Teyler was a wealthy cloth merchant and banker of Scottish descent, who bequeathed his fortune for the advancement of religion, art, and science. A relaxing canal trip - A great trip around the canals with a friendly captain who had some great recommendations. It was a nice taste of Haarlem that we wouldn't have had by just walking.

Quick and Nice Canal Trip - A good 50 minute tour of the canals. Our driver/guide was good although a little hard to understand the English.

Would have been better without rain. - Sadly, it was raining most of the time, so water on the windows made it. difficult to see or take pictures. My advice is, if it is raining, go back later when the windows are dry. The information was helpful, but difficult to see things. they did the best they could, and they were very nice, but it rained a lot our week in the Netherlands, so that's that!

Not recommended - Unfortunately, we found the tour rather boring. The information was very sparse, as everything was translated into 4 languages. And the tour didn't last longer than 45 minutes.

Not recommended for German-speaking tourists - The tour only partially met our expectations. There was no audio support. Although the majority of people on board were German, the information was primarily in English or Dutch.
