Amazing tour with an very engaging guide - Excellent guidance by Haffi. He was very engaging throughout the tour. He explained the nuances of volcanoes, cave system and other aspects in detail. He had a nice surprise for us in the store also (will not reveal that as that will ruin the fun for future customers). Overall a wonderful tour, would recommend it over the helicopter tours.

REQUEST HAFFI! Best tour!! - This was our first time in Iceland and we were so impressed by our tour guide Haffi and overall experience! Probably one of the coolest things we’ve ever done especially getting to make steam come out of the cracks that developed from the eruptions. The tour itself had a couple steep areas but not too rigorous (5-6 miles), I’d would definitely recommend wearing waterproof clothes and hiking shoes for the rough terrain. We were very happy that he adjusted to our pace and didn’t ever feel rushed, getting the full 3+ hours. He gave us an up close experience of eating food heated by the volcano, walking on lava, great pictures, and kept the whole hike very fun! Haffi’s deep knowledge/expertise on both the volcano and broader Iceland left us with such an appreciation, understanding, and excitement for the rest of our trip. This is a MUST ADD on your visit!

Great volcano 🌋 hike with Oddi - Our guide Oddi was so nice and knowledgeable. He went at a pace we were comfortable with (which is why I recommend a private tour). He even brought us baked goods (that he made himself ) and sparkling wine so we could celebrate our 30th anniversary next to a steam vent on the lava field 😊. We had a great hike. I just wish we were there a few days later to see the volcano erupt!!

Steam, lava and a lot of great facts. - Gudni was a fantastic guide. He was very knowledgeable and moved the hike at the pace of our group. The Fagradalsfjall Volcano site is significant to him and his dialog was very heartfelt. Another group led by guide Haffi, joined us for an educational surprise at the crater. I highly recommend the tour.

Amazing views on the volcano hike - My parents and I had a wonderful time on this volcano hike! The views were incredible, and our guide Oddi was incredibly knowledgeable about the volcanic history of the region. He knew the best spots for pictures and even the most interesting lava rocks to show us. We also felt very safe with him, since he showed us where was safe to walk on the lava from the 2021 eruptions (which was still smoking when we visited in June 2024). As a private tour, we were also able to take the hike at our own pace which was very nice, and it can be adjusted for length according to your group (we did about 5 miles round trip, with a good bit of elevation gain going up the mountain, and frequent stops for photos, which was the level of difficulty we were looking for).
