Amazing views on the volcano hike - My parents and I had a wonderful time on this volcano hike! The views were incredible, and our guide Oddi was incredibly knowledgeable about the volcanic history of the region. He knew the best spots for pictures and even the most interesting lava rocks to show us. We also felt very safe with him, since he showed us where was safe to walk on the lava from the 2021 eruptions (which was still smoking when we visited in June 2024). As a private tour, we were also able to take the hike at our own pace which was very nice, and it can be adjusted for length according to your group (we did about 5 miles round trip, with a good bit of elevation gain going up the mountain, and frequent stops for photos, which was the level of difficulty we were looking for).

The best part of my trip!!! - This was my favorite part of our entire trip in Iceland!! Our guide Oddi was the kindest, most knowledgeable and funniest guide we could’ve asked for. The hike was absolutely beautiful! We made a pit stop on the way to see little bubbling hot springs. He brought a tool that we used to measure the temp of the lava and the steam. He let me borrow his gloves when my hands were freezing and even packed us some homemade treats as a snack. Oddi taught us so much about volcanos, plants and the culture of Iceland!

Wonderful! Highly recommend - Oddi was wonderful and an informative guide! We learned about the history of Iceland, the volcanic eruptions in Iceland and how they differ from other types of volcanic activity in other parts of the world. Loved the numerous colors of the lava and what created them. I also enjoyed learning about the types of plants/flowers that thrive in this terrain.

100% recommend - Can't actually say enough good things about this tour. Our guide, Haffi, was very accommodating pre-trip (pickup time, route, need for trekking poles), arrived early for pickup, and proved remarkably knowledgeable about the volcanoes we visited. He provided a very engaging tour that kept us away from crowds and contributed a unique perspective as a resident near to the most recent eruptions. There were also some treats/surprises along the way. One of the best tours we have taken.

Amazing trek of a lifetime - The trip was absolutely amazing. Our guide Oddie was fantastic and made the whole experience so special. Taking us to another couple of special stop offs before and after and even providing hot chocolate and treats he baked for a stop off on the lava field itself! Cannot recommend this highly enough - so worth the money and paying a bit extra to have Oddie to ourselves.

We have had a fantastic adventure! - Today we were planning to view the volcanic area near Grindavik. We had booked a tour with 2Go Iceland because we also had a 1-year-old baby with us and do not like mass tourism. Upon arrival we met Oddi, our guide for the day. Oddi made sure we felt immediately at home in the rapidly changing Icelandic landscape :) Along the way, Oddi stopped regularly to talk about how volcanoes work, the vegetation we saw around us and he took us into the beautiful volcano area. As a highlight, we entered the relatively cooled magma together, which was a wonderful experience. The whole group really enjoyed today and gained a memory for life. Thanks for the beautiful trip Oddi! Family Plug
