A true bucket list experience! - Such a special experience. The Icelandic horses are so beautiful and sweet tempered. The facility is very organized and comfortable. The staff at Ishestar are all highly professional and kind. They are very careful and patient in order to give you and the horses the best experience. I had sweet Sproti. The Viking tour was intermediate /advanced and about 3 hours across gorgeous landscape with lupines in full bloom. What I loved most is that the care of the horses is exceptional and they get plenty of time to roam freely out on the mountain side.

Amazing experience - The ride itself was delightful. We watched a short movie beforehand, got ourselves helmets and other optional gear that you could borrow if needed, and got right to getting a horse to ride. You are asked what kind of horse you prefer, and they find you the perfect one. I asked for a fast one, and I got exactly that. They treat their horses kindly and with respect. It is obvious that they know their horses well, and I love that. I truly dislike when tourist agencies like this do not know their animals well, and treat them like garbage, but they do not. They treat them how they should be treated and I am happy with that. I recommend this tour mainly for beginners. If you are more experienced, I recommend choosing another one that they have on their site. I will be coming back when I visit Iceland next time.

Perfect - Guides were careful to match rider with the right horse. Group broke into two so that some could ride fast and others slow. Gear was perfect. Good ride on good trails. Guides stopped to take individual pictures. Competent a d friendly staff.

Beautiful, fantastic - The guides took care of riders from start to finish. My family was very impressed with the beauty and gentleness of the horses. The guides took photos for each group and chatted with us about the their practice of humanely treating their horses. They broke the groups up into experience levels so that each ride could enjoy their ride. It was a great experience.

Well organized and well run by young helpful guides. - That the guides split the group into experienced and inexperienced riders after about 30 minutes on the trail is an excellent way to run this experience for everyone.

Charming trip to meet the Icelandic horses. - A low key and fun introduction to the Icelandic horses. The staff love the horses, and can cater to newbies and youngsters. A relatively short ride. This is a big stable, there are smaller ones. A fun morning out.

Great experience - As a fairly experienced but timid rider, these horses were wonderful. Utmost trust. Great guides concerned for safety and good horsewomen. I was a little aghast at how nose-to-tail these horses liked to be. That doesn’t work in Colorado so well. Apparently these guys are good friends

New experience for all of... - New experience for all of us. It was a little slow and a lot of people in the group, so not much chance to interact and ride together as a family. Would probably go out of Reykjavík further out in the country next time. The guides were super nice and friendly and the price was okay.
