Day 0 - Day 1 – Arrival – Kilimanjaro
Mount Kilimanjaro - Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, the driver will greet you and transfer you to your hotel in Moshi town. Any missing gear can be rented on this day. Overnight stay will be at your designated hotel.
Mount Kilimanjaro - After breakfast, you will be picked up from your lodge in Moshi and driven to the Marangu gate. Once the paperwork is completed, the trek begins, leading you through the lush rainforest. Alongside the impressive vegetation, you may spot some primates as you make your way to the Mandara Hut. After a well-deserved rest, your guide can take you to the Maundi Crater to enjoy the stunning view of the Kenyan interior.

At sunrise, you will reach Gillman’s Point (5681m) – the crater rim of Kilimanjaro – where the sun will gradually warm the land. The cold of the night will soon be forgotten, and after an additional 1 – 2 hours of hiking, you will reach Uhuru Peak at 5895m. Upon returning to Kibo Hut, a warm meal awaits, followed by a 1 – 2 hour break before continuing back down to Horombo Hut.

The Kilimanjaro Climbing (trekking) route offers a 5-day itinerary that is generally manageable, although the final ascent to the summit can be challenging. Known as an easier route, it surprisingly has a high failure rate, often due to inadequate preparation and poorly timed attempts. These issues have prompted KINAPA officials to implement stricter guidelines for those climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro via the Marangu route. All camps along this path are equipped with reliable radio communication to the park office. Additionally, items such as mineral water, soft drinks, beer, and chocolates are available at these camps.
