The Mara River, which is home to large populations of hippos and Nile crocodiles, stands between the Wildebeest Migration and the Maasai Mara’s relative shelter. If you’re lucky, you might see the daring crossing itself, as zebras and wildebeest brave the river’s currents and crocodiles in an effort to reach safety on the other bank.
