Proceed to visit the Summer Palace, one of China’s largest imperial gardens. Originally a royal garden and temporary residence for Qing Dynasty emperors, the Summer Palace was first established as the Garden of Clear Ripples (Qingyiyuan) in 1750 and was burned down by British and French allied forces in 1860.
