Best choice I - Keiko is such a great guide. Though the weather is not that great the day, but she really lights up our day. Everything she told us was so interesting and inspiring. Also we have our best ice cream in Hakodate recommended by her. Can’t imagine such a lovely lady with so much energy and passion. We can feel how much she loves the city during our conversations.

Overview and history of Hakodate - We were in Hakodate for one day and wanted a customized overview of the city. Akira met us at our hotel and took us to 4 major sites which gave us a historical perspective of Japan and Hakodate’s crucial role in the Samurai civil war. He helped us navigate public transportation and avoid long lines at the Ropeway. We also found out about local cuisine and favorite dishes for people in Japan when visiting the morning fish market. The guide was very responsive to our requests and knowledgeable about the area. We wanted to see the Museum of the Northern Peoples which wasn’t on the normal tour, so he took us there at the end of our time together and went through the museum with us. We were very pleased with the tour.

Hide is an amazing guide. What a great day - We did the full day Hakone trip with Hideaki Nakayama as our guide. The trip was well organized, informative, smooth and fun. Hide was an amazing guide - we had such a great time thanks to him. He went over and above our expectations. Hide even made sure we got on our return train without any problems 🥰. Many thanks for a spectacular day.

Fun and flexible day in Hakodate - Humi was friendly knowledgeable and flexible on our full day tour of Hakodate. She learned that we wanted to eat fresh Hokkaido snow crab and worked that into our visit to the morning market. It was the best snow crab we have ever eaten…sweet and tasty! Then we visited the tower, fort and Mt. Hakodate and learned about the importance of Hakodate in the Japanese civil war that ended the Shogunate. When Humi learned we need train tickets to Noboribetsu the next day, she ended our tour at the JR station where she helped us to purchase our seats. We were lucky we did that because the train was sold out the next day! Thanks Humi for being flexible and sharing your city with us.

Fantastic tour of Hakodate - A great time with Heiji, and a light snow shower just made the scene even more memorable. We greatly enjoyed the Goryokaku Tower and the fort below, as well as the morning market and the former consulate's headquarters. He even spoke both English and Spanish - a remarkable feat! We had a wonderful time with Heiji, and would recommend this tour to all who swing through Hakodate

A Date with HakoDate! - First visit to Hakodate & we had a lovely day out with Meji. It was a little difficult understanding his English but we got by nonetheless & had heaps of fun & laughter with him. It was fun being able to get on the local tram & bus during the tour (which might otherwise have been a little daunting for first-timers!) This tour is flexible & we were able to let Meji know what we preferred to do & where to visit so that was great. Altogether very enjoyable & highly recommended.

Wonderful introduction to Hakodate! - I had a great day in Hakodate with my English-speaking guide, Fumi. She was very organized and was at the hotel right on time to meet me, and shared lots of information about Hakodate during my tour. We started our visit with a trip to Goryokaku Park, where we took the elevator to see the view from the top. It was a nice, clear day so it was easy to see the star-shaped fort below. Fumi also helped me with shipping my souvenirs with Yamato when I bought too many to carry. :-) I appreciated her assistance. From there we went to Mt. Hakodate via the ropeway and had a really nice lunch with an amazing view. We also toured Motomachi, had a little stroll along the bay, and visited the Red Brick Warehouse. It was a really nice day, and I hope to come back again and do another tour with Fumi-san.

Wonderful tour - Fumio was an outstanding tour guide. We were at first a bit disappointed because of the fog and rainy weather but he really made the tour amazing. He even managed to squeeze in a visit to the shrine which was not on the original itinerary. Honestly, I'm not sure we could have seen half the things we saw without his help. Really wonderful experience. If you are going to book, ask for Fumio!

Great experience with knowledgeable guide. - We had a fantastic day with our guide Yuki. She was so friendly and knowledgeable of the area and made an itinerary in consultation with what suited our interests. She found a great little soba noddle place for lunch after working out what we had a preference for at the start of the trip. We were also ahead of time (due to some good luck with transport connections and no crowds) so she showed us some additional sites close to our hotel. I would highly recommended Yuki as a guide for any trip to Japan and her English was exceptional.
