A great way to get out and see beyond Tokyo - Our driver, Waseem was great. He was punctual, very pleasant, friendly, and helpful. We did not see Fuji because of cloud cover, but it was a delightful day!

Great experience and guide - Amazing experience! Waseem was a phenomenal and very fun guide to show our family around Hakone/Mt. Fuji. With private transport, we were able to go to all the places we wanted, as well as his recommendations in one day (likely hard using train/public transport only). One person started feeling slightly ill during the trip and stayed in the vehicle, Waseem was very kind to buy onigiri to help them.

Amazing Mt. Fuji Tour with Great Service! - The trip with Mohsin was excellent! We loved how efficient and accommodating he was. The ride there was super smooth and we got there in about two hours. The view of Mt. Fuji was breathtaking and we couldn’t believe how lucky we were with the view. Mohsen was lovely and covered our drinks and stopped at a great rest stop for us. He was a pro in taking photos for us and let us have a lot of freedom with our tour. We highly recommend this tour for your next trip to Tokyo (:

Wonderful Family Day Trip from Tokyo - Our family had a wonderful day touring Hakone, Lake Ashinoko area. Abdul was a fabulous driver & guide, providing us with a list of options at the start of trip to allow us to prioritize what we would like to do on the days itinerary. There are truly an enormous number of experiences in the area that could fill many trips but we settled on the Lake Ashinoka boat ride and cable rope way up the mountain. We got lucky with good weather and beautiful views of Mt Fuji. Our teens were so happy to mix the car ride with the ‘pirate’ boat ride on lake (worth the extra to pay for first class tix at front of boat, less crowded and better views) and cable car .. with lunch & souvenir shopping at top of mountain. Abdul dropped us off to do our own thing at the lake and rejoined us after lunch for pick up on top of mountain, which was perfect. He also dropped us off at Gore Park for traditional crafts (glass blowing/pottery) and at Hakone open air museum. Our whole family enjoyed the whole day. Abdul’s recommendations were incredibly helpful and trip was a wonderful day excursion from Tokyo. Very highly recommend! Thank you Abdul!

Frustrating - The trip started right on time. Google maps said 2:15 to hakone. After an hour our driver went off the Expressway onto city streets of Yokohama. We went back towards Tokyo? End result 4:30 to get to hakone. Made the day stressful and unenjoyable.

MT FUJI NOT VISIBLE AT ALL - First, I want to say that our tour guide did his best, but I don't think Viator gave us an accurate description of the tour. In addition, we had specifically selected an English speaking guide, because we wanted to know more about it where we were going and the history behind it. But our guide barely spoke English. It was hard to understand how long we could spend on the boat, which stops in multiple locations. I also chose this tour because it says Hakone and Mt. Fuji, but Mt. Fuji isn't visible at all on this tour!!!! I was pretty upset about this. It's 90% of the reason I booked this tour. And to add insult to injury, there's a picture of where you can see Mt. Fuji on the gondola, but it's not actually visible anywhere on the trip.

Save your money, go with someone else. - Off the bat I had to pay an extra 10,000 JPY to be picked up at a hotel just outside of Tokyo’s 23 districts. On-site I had to pay extra for the cable car to the viewing area which was not specified in the tour description (the cable car was mentioned as “optional” - but duh, you gotta take it if you want to see Fuji) and should be included considering the high cost of the tour. The viewing area is a geothermal site with interesting tourist attractions and local history but unfortunately Mt Fuji was completely obscured due to haze and clouds. So a bust. After that we went back down and ate at the View restaurant which was nice. I didn’t feel like dropping more money on the lake cruise and then spent the next hour hunting down the tour guide so we could leave. Passed on the shrine because my fun meter had run out. If you can find a less expensive way to get there then Viator I would recommend doing that as there’s no guarantee you will see Fuji and there are extra costs.
